Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday.
Who could hang a name on you, when you change with every new day?
Still, I'm gonna miss you.
-- Rolling Stones
We've come to Stella's final day on the blog. It's funny how bittersweet this feels -- on the one hand I'm so ready to give up the challenge, and on the other I'm sorry to say goodbye to her. She's become almost like a real person to me, and we've been through so much together. Many of you were there with us when our journey began in April 2007. That's a long time to work with one paper collection!
Today's card combines much of what I love about Stella -- pretty florals, earthy solids that aren't really solids at all, warm colors, and the ability to be just about anything you require of her. Stella has done feminine, masculine, every season, and just about every holiday -- including Halloween! Today she's made a birthday card with a vintage edge to it. I've used a carousel horse and sentiment from Flourishes' Enjoy the Ride. The Prima flowers, glazed brad, and velvet ribbon also came from Flourishes. Along with Stella, I've used varying shades of brown and yellow cardstocks, and Spellbinders Large Scalloped Oval Nesties. There's a Martha Stewart edge punch here, too. The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and embossed with Vanilla embossing powder. The carousel horse was stamped on Flourishes' Classic White Cardstock and colored with Prismacolor alcohol markers (similar to Copics).
Are you still with me?
Now comes the part where we send Stella off in style!
I've gathered up a few things to offer as blog candy.
Four 6x6 paper pads -- BasicGrey Olivia and Origins, and Prima Annalee and Fairy Flora (you can click on any photo for a larger view):
Three stamp sets courtesy of Flourishes -- Swan Lake, Apple of My Eye, and Windows to the World. These are designer extras so there's no pretty packaging, but the stamps are the same:
Several one yard lengths of ribbons I selected from Flourishes, including that cute ruffled gingham and rich scalloped velvet trim:
And finally, Michelle at Stamper's Dream was kind enough to donate two beautiful JustRite sets. I've included the round stamper to fit both sets:
This is where you come in. Now, Stella and I have put a lot of work into Ruby Tuesdays so. . . to be eligible to win the whole lot of this blog candy I would ask you to do one little thing:
Pick out any Ruby Tuesday card or project which you happen to like for some reason, and either link it or briefly describe it in your comment. I'll know which one you're referring to. You can go directly to Ruby Tuesdays either here (old blog) or here (new blog).
Please, if you're reading this in an email, click through to the blog and leave your comment here. To leave a comment, simply click on the title in your email (Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday) and it will bring you to the blog. Scroll all the way to the end of the comments and you'll find the fields where you can submit a comment. Fill in your name and your email address in the designated boxes (no one will see your email address but me). A URL is NOT required. I have many valued readers who send me nice comments through email, only, and I don't want you folks to miss your chance.
I thought about putting a Mr. Linky on here and having you CASE and link a Ruby Tuesday card, but that would probably exclude too many people. I want this to be fun, and a nice way to say "goodbye" to Stella.
This is all that's left of Stella:
There's still some life in her but, frankly, were tired, Stella and I. We're ready to be finished.
By next Monday evening, comments will be closed and I'll begin the process of numbering the comments and drawing a random winner. Don't forget to come back after Monday to see if you're the lucky one! I hope to see you again in the meantime. Take care!
