Yikes, it’s July already! Really? Heck, I’m just starting to get the hang of summer. I have quite a few birthdays to celebrate this month and some cards are already made, but I need more. There goes my stash. Luckily I’m happy to replenish, especially the birthday cards. They’re always fun. This one was made with a new-to-me set which I think is so cute. It’s Penny Black Touch of Whimsy. Lots of darling stamps in this set and I’m looking forward to using the rest of them, but I’ll start with the bicycle.
While I’m trying to focus on my new stamps before they become retro, I’m also making an effort to use up some of the spare parts I’ve set aside. You probably have those, too – bits and pieces you prepared for a card and then decided not to use at the time. Mine have spilled over from their box and are now starting to fill a basket, so I’d say it’s time to either use them or lose them. I pulled out a few pieces and earmarked those for use. Starting small, you know. In this case it’s the card base. It was sitting there already covered with the blue designer paper, so I built on that, adding the green gingham and the die cut ric rac.
I colored with Copics on X-Press It Blending Card. Sparkled with Stickles Stardust glitter. Added some white dots on the flags and two flowers. All supplies will be listed below my signature. Enjoy your first July day and I’ll see you again soon!
Stamps: Penny Black Touch of Whimsy Paper: X-Press It Blending Card, CTMH Key Lime, Pretty in Pink, white card base covered with Bo Bunny Prairie Chic designer paper Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics for coloring Accessories: Stickles Stardust glitter, Signo white gel pen, MFT Die-namics Wonky Stitched Squares, Taylored Expressions Ric Rac Borders, Scotch brand foam mounting tape
Well I have to say I don't think I have seen a cuter bike then this!! It is so adorable with it's pretty 'decorations'! Those birdies and the banner are the cutest ever! Love the pretty colors, and all the other details you have added, and it sure does feel good to use those 'set aside' things doesn't it? I will be gone from today for a week, so I will be sure to comeback and see all your beautiful creations when I return. I have 17 scheduled posts..(not all for this week though..whew!)...so have a safe and fun 4th!!

This is hands-down the cutest bike stamp I've seen . I can't wait to see the other stamps in this set if they are even half as cute as this one ! Love all the happy spring colors and especially love that wonky die ! It was the perfect choice to frame this cutie ! I have a whole basket of parts too! We must work alike ! Lol I hope our fur babies make it through all the fireworks without getting too upset ! Brady hates them !

Oh, Leslie - I love this card! It's just so delightful! The image is so cute, your coloring is great, and I really love the Wonky Stitched Squares. The die-cut rick rack is very cool, too.

Well, you could peddle this one over to me! I love it. You even photo glitter well. All the papers and dies make this something special. I like the way the flowers spilled over the the die and I'm trying to figure out how you did that. You amazed me again!!

Leslie it's been way, way to long since I've commented on your blog. But I keep up with you that you can count on! This is a darling, darling birthday card. You just can't go wrong with Penny Black when it comes to adorable stamp sets. And I love that you are still encouraging us to "move" those paper scraps! I'm trying, Leslie, I promise.
We have moved again since we last we spoke. We are living in coastal South Carolina on Daniel Island. It will be a year in November. It was either Charleston area or back to Phoenix. We would have preferred Phoenix, but our son, his wife, and Teddy came too and we wanted to be nearer the other set of grandparents. And speaking of Teddy - he will be 4 years old the end of July! Can you believe it!
The second part of my little story is - I lost my "Summerwalk Designs" Blog. My fault. I forgot to renew the name during our move and when I went back to do it - it had been sold - ugh. So, I started all over again with a new name. I'm not designing for anyone - just having fun when I can.
I loved the last post of Wally and Lulu. Leslie they are so sweet, and so loved! Have a wonderful summer. Your backyard looks so inviting. A lot of hard work goes into that garden - but it's worth it isn't it. I know have a southern style front porch with rocking chairs and rail baskets. Perfect for rocking, sippin' and wavin'
I've missed you friend,
XO

SOOO cute! Leslie, this makes me think of your beautiful garden, and how the birds surely must celebrate their lives living in the Eden you have created for them -- colorful, happy, full of life, lots of happy flowers -- and two loving fur children who welcome them into their little domain! Beautiful card, and such wonderful colors. Hope you are enjoying the beginning of a great week-end! hugs, de

Fantastic for a summer birthday, love all the great little touches you gave to it, the sparkle and white highlights, love the stitched frame and the flowers you put in the corner. I have a bin like that myself, I need to go through and make a few cards from it :) Have a fun 4th weekend!!

I'm so far behind this week, just getting caught up. Gosh another fun summer card! Love everything about this. You sure have an eye for detail. Your stitched square die makes for a nice edge to frame your bicycle. Love the ric rac and those little flowers in the corner. Using 'spare parts' seemed to work for this card - fabulous Leslie!
