I’m taking Kathy Racoosin up on her 30 Day Coloring Challenge this month. It started on the 5th, which is when I colored this, but I had other posts scheduled so had to wait to share. The idea is to do at least a little coloring every day, even if only for five minutes. I don’t imagine I’ll be able to finish a card every day, as it takes me almost as long to decide what to color as it does to actually color it.
From among the many stamps I had out on my desk I chose to use Heartfelt Creations Home Sweet Home and colored with Copics. The image worked with the card parts I’d pulled out of the basket. Call them card parts, spare parts, leftovers, set asides, temporary rejects… you know what I mean. I’m trying to use them up. Today it’s the card base, which is very old cardstock weight double-sided designer paper by My Mind’s Eye. Additionally, I used a Cheery Lynn Dutch Daisy A2 Stacker Frame, also from the basket. By the way, there’s not a daisy in sight on this die. I do see tulips. At any rate, it’s a pretty die. I cut the largest die, then placed the next size in the middle of that die cut and ran it through again, which is how I got the double border. Pearls and ribbon finish it off.
I may be doing so much coloring you’ll get fed up with me. I’ll be back soon! Till then, have a happy day!
Stamps: Heartfelt Creations Home Sweet Home Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, My Mind’s Eye Kaleidoscope designer paper Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Pool Party, Copics for coloring Accessories: Pearls, ribbon, Spellbinders Labels Twenty Eight, Cheery Lynn Dutch Daisy A2 Stacker Frame, Scotch brand foam mounting tape
What lovely colors on your card this morning. I love the image and the die cut is just an added bonus! It's always nice to use extra bits and pieces and they always seem to make the most beautiful cards!

Leslie, what a beautiful card to see first thing in the morning. I'm off today, was just heading out for my morning walk and thought I would take a quick peek at my Feedly site and glad I did. Such soft pretty colours, love the background die as well. And no worries here about all your colouring, I would never get fed up with seeing your posts. You always inspire me to better. Whether it's a little tid bit of info, new dies, new technique - I always love when you post. Looking forward to your next one. Enjoy your day. I"m off to wash my kitchen windows and mini blinds, then some gardening. I hope to get some time to work on some cards as well. Take care,

This is such a fresh breath of spring ! I can almost hear the birds chirping . You do such an amazing job of coloring and if you lived closer, I would be coming over for lessons ! I love the dies you used for the background . And that little touch of ribbon was just the perfect finishing touch . Another little work of art !

"I may be doing so much coloring you’ll get fed up with me" said no one ever! At least I cannot believe anyone viewing your blog would ever utter such words. Your skills are amazing, making your cards a delight to view. I have several of those 'fancy' dies but have never thought to use them for a double border. Thanks for the tip!

So gorgeous! Love what you did with all your "leftovers." I'd so love to have time to color every day. Guess I better get myself in gear and hop to it!

So springy and pretty Leslie. I had to chuckle at your statement of it takes you just as long to figure out what colors than it would to color. :-) You take such thought and time into each card and that is what makes them awesome. The die cut background is super cool too.

Beautiful Leslie. I love the imgage framed so nicely. So much of what you wrote in your post resonates. I love that you encourage us to use what we have. And your coloring has always had me spellbound. I am still in awe at how you pull together patterned paper -- something I still have a lot of difficulty with. And time? I'm the queen of slow, and no plan! *haha* Thank you for always making the day brighter with your lovely designs.

Oh such a sweet image, love watching birds feed their babies and your coloring is terrific!! Aren't you just the creative gal, using the smaller size to make the embossing on that, great idea!! Lovely delicate framing too, and I don't think I could tire of your coloring :)

What a great card using your card parts! Too funny about there being no daisies on the Dutch Daisy die:) Love the die-cut, though!

Another beauty and of course those 'scraps or rejects or whatever we all call them' look as though they were made for this card! I love using my stuff up too, however it is never ending is it!
