Hey, there! I finally stamped! A girl can only go just so long without getting inky, so that’s what I did for today’s card – some good, old fashioned “ink rubbing”. That’s what I’ve always called it because I don’t use a sponge. I rub the ink into the paper using a wad of bathroom tissue. Paper towel would work, too, but that roll of bathroom tissue is so handy on my stamp table.
The ink rubbing started with an old SU! color called Gable Green. Remember that one? I’m loving it all over again. Gable Green in the lower left corner, then Barely Banana blended into it. I always start with the darker color, then rub over the whole thing with the lighter color. Stamped Heartfelt Creations Script Aster in the corner with Versamark, then embossed with white. Added a touch of color with a Tombow marker. Don’t know why the uppermost aster looks so “ewwww”, but I think it reacted with the glitter glue to turn brownish, tsk tsk.
To finish it off quickly and avoid a too-busy look I used all white in the design. For the frame I cut a Spellbinders Grand Square, then cut into that with Impression Obsession All-in-One-Frames-Square. A pretty Tutti Designs Butterfly Corner and a glittered Little B butterfly sticker with a rhinestone body are accents. I wanted a sentiment on the front, but couldn’t see where it would work, so I saved it for the inside. The sentiment comes with the Script Aster set, but the faint green asters inside are from the Heartfelt Delicate Twining Asters set.
I’ll wrap up now and return on Wednesday with a new Double D challenge. Have a fabulous day!

You did that with tissue??? Oh my word! It's terrific! I love everything about this ... Never would I get that result using tissue ... but I must try it...Love the frame too - Again I wouldn't have thought of that idea ... Thanks so much for the constant inspiration... Have a great day!

Well now, I may have to use the tissue trick! I've always used a cotton ball and rubbed off part of the color then lightly applied the color. It goes on slow but it's easier to apply more than to try and take away. I love your card and really probably wouldn't have the bit of brownish color on one of the asters. Well done you!

Card is just awesome. I like the shadow box affect you achieved with the dies. I hardly ever use yellow and I don't know why. The yellow with the yellow green is so refreshing. I don't emboss much either but now I think I must. Your card is so uplifting and inspiring. I forgot to mention the butterfly... gorgeous!

This is beautiful! I can't get over how smooth the ink went on with tissue. I will definitely have to give that a try when I get back to stamping. And, as for the "ewww" element, I like it. It looks great with the warm background colors and is a nice contrast with those gorgeous white die cuts. Love the simple stamp and sentiment on the inside, too. Hope you have a great week!

SQUEEL!!! Oh my goodness Leslie, this is gorgeous! I love your technique, gorgeous image and love your shadow box effect. Simply stunning! I have been on a waiting list for the corner die, I hope it comes in soon. And that little butterfly, nice addition. The inside is so pretty too, love how you stamped the image in the corner. Have yourself a wonderful day. Bill and I are off today, just back from our bird outing. Got some pictures of the indigo bunting and chestnut sided warbler. It was a good morning.

I love what you did with a tissue! The blending of colors really turned out great! That green was Rachel's favorite color as well. She was so bummed when they retired it! I like how you tucked the die in the corner, too!

Oh, Leslie, I remember rubbing inks on with bathroom tissue! LOL, that's a long time ago, but it worked perfectly. I love how you've used it, and what a beautiful card! I love the asters with the script background, and the border die is gorgeous! Love the frame from IO that I've eyed from time to time. As always, a stunning card - inside and out! Hugs, sweet friend!
