Hello, there! Today I have a sympathy card and a get well card which I've made for my customer lady and will hopefully be suitable for a masculine recipient. Both cards use BasicGrey Origins designer paper plus colored cardstock. Dies on the first card are Memory Box Finnegan Fronds (bird and frond), and Impression Obsession With Sympathy.
Inside is a retired JustRite sympathy sentiment (Sympathy Nested Sentiments) and another frond from the Finnegan Fronds die set.
I have quite a few of the old JustRite sentiment stamps from back when they made them with the grooves to fit on the grooved stampers. Remember those? These days I don’t use the grooved stampers. Rather, I trim down the stamp and use removable double sided tape to secure them to an acrylic block. Works like a charm and they’re just like any other unmounted rubber stamp.
Pictured below is the second card. The ovals in the center are Spellbinders Grand Ovals and Classic Ovals Large, left over when I cut the frames for the card I shared last Monday. The smaller oval was a spare part I had tucked into my Origins paper pad. The foliage is Poppystamps Sylvan Sprig. Impression Obsession Get Well Soon and Memory Box Forest Bird. The bird is rather plain – just a silhouette – so I cut it from patterned paper and gave it a little black eye dot with a Sakura glaze pen.
That’s it from me. Now, back to the coloring… See you again soon!
Two wonderful cards Leslie, as you say perfect for men, love the colours you have used and beautiful bird cut with papers, I too have a lot of these old stamps, I put thin foam on the back of mine, works a treat.

both are very nice. I still have the groove blocks and use them, especially for their alphabet sets. Have a great day

Lovely cards Leslie, thanks for the tip about the Just Rite grooved stamps. I have quite a few of these but rarely use them now as I find mounting and un-mounting them on the grooved stamping block fiddly and time consuming. I must give this a try.

These cards turned out so great - I'm sure your customer loved them! I have to say my favorite is the second card - probably because of the bird! I love how the ovals always dress up the card! Have a great week.

Leslie, these are both wonderful cards and great masculine cards at that! Love both, great use of your left over die cuts from your previous card. Wonderful font die cuts. Great paper choice and perfect for both of these cards. Your bird on the second card - love that you die cut it and added his eye, it's just perfect. Fabulous layout on both. Once again thanks for the inspiration as always. Now you did say "back to colouring", can't wait to see! Enjoy your week.

These are both extraordinary cards and especially suited for a man . Your paper choices were perfect for both and I love the dies you chose . Especially the bird on the get well card . I can see him coming to live at my house someday ! I love the sentiments too. I don't have a lot of sentiment dies and usually go with a stamp but I think I like the die much better . Awesome job ! She will be thrilled with them !

Two fabulous cards, Leslie! I do have some of those JustRite stamps. I'll have to consider your idea for them.

Oh, Leslie, what wonderful masculine cards...and really great and fun ones too. I love that you've been thrifty in using some of the remains of one card for another. I just love the sweet little bird dies, and you've really shown us some of your amazing collection of dies! I love it! And, yes, I remember the JustRite stamps with the blocks (and still have them). What a clever way to use them. Learning every day from you! Hugs, sweet friend!

Masculine get wells are hard and these are perfect. I like the die cuts you used on both. Very soothing and comforting.
