I was honored to be asked to join the gals at the Color Throwdown challenge blog for the month of March. This week’s colors are hot pink, green, black, and white. It’s okay to throw in a neutral as necessary, too. I couldn’t help but think “flowers” for the pink and green, so I watercolored some fuchsias and put them on a white card with just a bit of black trim.
The fuchsias are Heartfelt Creations Fuchsia Clusters. I stamped the image outline in Palette Claret (deep pink) and used Tombow markers for the flowers and Stampin’ Up! inks (from reinkers) for the background. Cut an oval in a fancy die, mounted on a black mat and then a white card. Check out these pretty colors:
And check out the inspiration from the team (swoon!):
- Barbara Anders
- Broni Holcombe
- Joan Ervin
- Jodi Collins
- Lisa Henke
- Amy Rysavy
- Lori Tecler
- Lynn Put
- Vickie Zimmer
- Wanda Cullen
I’ll sum it all up in the recipe below. Thanks for your time, and I’ll see you again soon!
Stamps: Heartfelt Creations Fuchsia Clusters Paper: 140 lb cold press watercolor, linen texture white, black Ink: Palette Claret, Tombow markers and SU! reinkers for watercoloring Accessories: Spellbinders Divine Eloquence and Grand Ovals dies

Oh look at you, struttin your Heartfelt Creations stamps! I love your coloring and that die is amazing! I'm afraid Spring has hidden again but we had about 4 nice days. The wind is howling and it's cold again this morning!

Oh, Leslie, this is GORGEOUS! I love the image you've used and the intricate die with white on white to keep this beautifully watercolored fuchsia "front stage!" Your coloring is exquisite, and I just love how striking it is - wow! And the fine black matting is just perfect and enough. Truly an exquisite card, sweet friend! Hugs!

Leslie, what paper do you use for Tombow markers please? and can I please shout WOWOW! Your watercoloring around the fuchsias definitely says "artiste on the premises". Gorgeous! Did you apply water around the stem and leaves for that beautiful aura, and then color the stems and leaves? Or vice versa - incredibly GORGEOUS! Congrats on the GDT! They are very lucky to have you! hugs, de
