Moving right into Monday… it’s Dies R Us day and I have a beachy card to share. You’d think, living so near the ocean, I’d make more beachy cards. I don’t dream of the beach, perhaps because it’s so accessible. However, I do enjoy the beach and I have plenty of beachy stamps and some nice dies to go with them, so a beachy card it is.
I reached far, far into the past for a stamp set that hasn’t seen the light of day for a while. It’s a Lizzie Anne set called “Shore Thoughts”. I don’t think Lizzie Anne stamps are even made anymore. I went all pastel and light and airy right down to the pink seashells. When you’re making it yourself you can do that, right? The gauzy background is an old Stampin’ Up! background stamp called “Cheesecloth”. It’s good to get the old stuff out now and then, isn’t it? I do that a lot.
I framed the pretty seashell stamp with Memory Box Stitched Scalloped Circles. To soften the background so it wouldn’t compete with the focal image I placed a vellum circle inside the frame. My fantasy-pink seashell die cuts which embellish the corner are Impression Obsession Shell Set. There’s more inside with Impression Obsession Mini Shell Set:
Very beachy! Can’t you just feel those summer breezes? Don’t forget to visit our Challenge Blog and Inspiration Blog, as well. Those girls are always making me add to my wish list! Have a happy day!

Love, love, love this card, Leslie! I want to be at the beach when I look at it. I like the way the vellum mutes the background behind the shell and I do believe I have that stamp too!

I so love this card, Leslie. I love the fresh summer feel to this, the soft pastel colours and your layout.(I can only imagine the soft warm winds blowing off the ocean along the sandy shore- ah!) Love the bit of vellum behind the seashell, gives it such a softer feel. I have a few of Lizzie Anne stamp sets which haven't see the light of day in years. Maybe you have inspired me to dig them out. Enjoy your day as well!

Oh, Leslie, I just love this card, and I too don't dream of the beach living so close myself (oh the joy!). I so love the cheesecloth background and the pastels. And, yes, what a pretty pastel shell! As I look at it again, the slight diagonal reminds me of how the shore can be and how the waves come in. Beautiful, sweet friend! Hope you get to visit the beach soon - spring is coming! Hugs!

The cheesecloth background is amazing with your sea scene! I'm making a card right now using a long retired stamp - they are some of my favorites. The pastel hues are lovely! Shells are so delicate and yet wondrously strong and timeless! XO

When I saw this card it reminded me of being at the shore this past summer looking for shells with the girls! Much better than looking at the snow fall out my window this morning! I love the saying - so precious!

So, so pretty! I love that you stamped the cheesecloth background on only the top part of the card.

I read many blogs, but older products are seldom used. I wish that wasn't so and am always happy when you do. I still like and use my "old stuff" and am glad to see something that might prompt me to use it in a new way! This is a lovely card.
