Remember that new challenge blog I mentioned in an earlier post – Double D Challenges? Well, today begins their first ever challenge! This is an easy once a month deal for me, and my turn doesn’t really come up until the 20th, but since we have the option to jump in any time I chose to jump in today to join the fun and help get things started. Besides, the inspiration board is so pretty it inspired me to color these blue Poppies from, of course, Power Poppy:
Check out the inspiration board below. The theme is Forget Me Not. Think blue and flowers and, well, just go to the Double D Challenge Blog and let them tell you all about it. You’ll see some wonderful team samples there, too. This is going to be fun!
I colored my poppies with Copic markers on X-Press It Blending card and stitched to a card base made from some very sturdy and very old double-sided designer paper. Tied on some ribbon and called it done. Very easy. I like easy!
These are the Copic markers I used for coloring:
I hope you can join us. Just pop on over there and check it out. Have a good day!
Stamps: Poppies Paper: Neenah Classic White, retired My Mind’s Eye Kaleidoscope designer paper Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers for coloring Acessories: Offray ribbon
Wow! What a beauty and it reminds me of Spring. I know we are just getting started with our cold weather but the last couple of days have been brutal! Your card lets me know that Spring will be next!

Leslie you always inspire me in so many ways, your colouring is always done to perfection, love the pointillism for the shading around the blooms. Awe, so darn pretty! Leslie, have I told you lately how INCREDIBLE you are? You are so very talented, wonderful, sincerely kind, and so much more. Whew! These blue Poppies you’ve shared, the way you dabbled the edges in green dots, the beautiful shading of the ginger jar — your whole card has given me an extra spring in my step tonight. I'm so glad I stopped by. Thank you for sharing! Love, ~marc

Oh, Leslie, I totally agree with Marcy! You are amazing, and what a beautiful card inspired by the photo (which is gorgeous)! I love the simple card design with your stitching and simple ribbon/bow, and your coloring is oh so beautiful! Blue is my favorite color (to wear especially). I am in love with this card!
