Are you ready for something other than a Christmas card? When I made today’s card I realized just how much I was missing the variety. But, wouldn’t you know I got myself in one of those last minute pickles and had to finish up quite a few Christmas cards this month. I’m happy to say it’s looking good, though – enough cards and they will arrive on time!
It’s Power Poppy Friday so naturally I’m sharing a Power Poppy card today. I’ve used the clear stamp set Happy Crabapple for a card that’s singing a spring song. Certainly much different from what’s going on outside right now!
It’s a simple design using the Bo Bunny Prairie Chic designer paper that I love so much with this image. I cut a decorative curve and added a button and linen thread. The image was stamped in gray ink and colored with Copic markers. After the coloring was finished I dotted the flowers’ stamens with a white Sakura Souffle Pen. Pictured below are the markers I used:
I will sum up everything in the recipe below my signature, but first let’s see who’s sharing more Power Poppy today:
Thank you so much for dropping in! See you again soon!
Stamps: Happy Crabapple Paper: X-Press It Blending Card, kraft, Bo Bunny Prairie Chic designer paper Ink: SU! Going Gray and Close to Cocoa, white Sakura Souffle pen, Copic markers as pictured above Accessories: Button, linen thread, Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders One
Wow and Wow! Your card is beautiful. Coloring is awesome and what else would you expect? I hope you don't mind if I copy the creative way you used that die. I went right over to Power Poppy to see if you had a digital but she doesn't. :( You've just made the stamp so irresistible!

This is absolutely beautiful, and like you, I was ready for some spring time in my cards . I love seeing and making Christmas cards but at some point you want some variety . Your coloring always blows me away . Your images always look more like photographs than something you colored .

Yes, brightly colored flowers are good in winter! I do believe I bought this stamp, too, so someday I will have to see what I can do with it. The strips of designer paper are such a great touch, too.

Oh Leslie, this is exquisite! Sorry I'm so late in commenting, I too am so far behind in everything these days, and then today my hard drive died on my MAC, so hubby gave me his computer to use until he can repair mine. I absolutely love your design, the die cut edge is gorgeous(I might need to steal your idea) the paper is just perfect for your gorgeous coloured crabapple branch. Wow, I can't stop looking at your card. So beautiful!
