Hello, friends, and happy Friday! This is my double-post day (twice the fun), so please scroll down or click “home” for more. Thank you!
With a new month comes a new challenge at Power Poppy, and another chance to win a stamp set! It’s my turn to host the challenge and I wanted my choice to reflect something I really love about card making: designer paper. All those pretty patterns and colors are irresistible to me, and the designer paper stock in my stamp room clearly attests to the truth of that. Can you relate at all? Well, let’s share it in our challenge this month. Here’s what I wrote for the challenge post on the Power Poppy Blog:
Many of us have more designer paper than we know what to do with, so this month let's "Hang some paper"! I'd like to see you get creative and use at least three patterns or colors of designer paper on your card or project. Mix it up! Plaids, dots, flowers, stripes, you name it. It could be as simple as a trio of flags in different patterns, or all mixed up in your favorite sketch. Just remember -- think three! Enjoy!
And here’s my sample using the newly released Go Wild stamp set:
My card is a teensy bit smaller than usual at 5 1/4” x 4”, made to fit an odd-size envelope I just happen to have. The envelope is the pretty aqua blue that’s in the paper, so card and envelope make a nice pair. I covered the entire card front with designer paper, leaving only a narrow border of the coral card base showing along the edge. The card front is cut away slightly so the stripe along the right side is actually inside the card.
Pictured below are the Copic markers I colored with:
Let’s see all the pretty papers my Bloom Brigade sisters are using with their Power Poppy stamps today:
I hope you can play along, too! Have a great day!
Stamps: Power Poppy Go Wild Paper: X-Press It Blending Card, coral Bazzill, My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline designer paper Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers as pictured above Accessories: Ribbon, Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight, Scotch brand foam mounting tape
Wow! So gorgeous. Love the image and I'm always impressed with the beautiful dies that you use. I love the how you colored those flowers. I should have no problem with this challenge since, like you, I am addicted to pattern paper, but why is it that I never can find that perfect piece of paper at times with all that I have!

Beautiful coloring of the flowers, I love how you tied together the colors in the paper with your image, neat way to use our scraps and like the cut away front to reveal the paper strip inside!! Yes I have more paper than I could ever use that's for sure!

Oohhh, Leslie, this is so lovely!, I don't know anyone who combines designer papers with colored images better than you!! What a fun challenge. I'm sure I could make a whole lot of cards and never use up my paper. I actually have the paper you used in your sample; it is one of my favorites! Thanks for hosting the challenge this month!
