Hi, there! It’s Friday again and darned if it didn’t seem to come around quickly. That always happens when you’re looking the other way, doesn’t it? It’s time for another QKR Stampede challenge and this week it’s #140 “Children’s Birthday”. Last week I made a little girl’s birthday card for the balloons challenge, and this week I’m thinking more along the lines of a little boy. These days they start out pretty young with computer games and TV personalities and music stars, but I like to think the littlest ones would still be delighted with a colorful, smiling critter.
This is digi9410 Birthday Gator. The green-ness of him is quite improbable, but then, so is an alligator holding a birthday cake. It’s all for fun. I colored with Copic markers, then cut him out and placed him on a frame die cut from reptilian-textured cardstock. There’s a little touch of sparkle on the candle flames, and the stamped sentiment is decorated with a teeny tiny die cut bow.
When you visit QKR you’ll notice the list on the left starts out with rubber stamps. You would scroll down to get to the digi category. Need a cute birthday card for a child? There are bunches of darling critters over there! Kids, too, and lots more. Join our #148 “Children’s Birthday” challenge with or without QKR stamps and you might win a chance for some fun shopping. Thanks for dropping by!
Stamps: QKR Stampede digi9410 Birthday Gator, Stampin’ Up! sentiment Paper: X-Press It Blending Card, textured white, BasicGrey Green at Heart designer paper Ink : Printer, Memento Tuxedo Black, various Copic markers for coloring Accessories: Candy Dots, Stickles Stardust glitter glue, Spellbinders Grand Squares and Classic Squares Small, Memory Box Tiny Bow, Die-Namics Mix and Match Banner, Scotch brand foam mounting tape
This card is sure to capture the heart of a young one. Great image you chose, love your whole design and all the details. Your little flag at the top - what a great idea to add the year yourself. Oh my, Leslie!! Our younger grandson would LOVE this one, so I'm going to have to get it...hehe! I made a pillow out of one of his tee shirts with a green monster (or dinosaur), and he sleeps with it every night! Ah! I just love this little guy and your beautiful coloring, and the layout is just so fun! Fabulous and so inspiring (for this grandma!!)! Hugs!

Love your cute and adorable critter card...makes me think of my granddaughter.."Ally"...we always called her "ally-gator"...lol! Colored so pretty with all happy colors, love the added sparkle on the flames, too!! I will be sending a few things your way this week...sorry for the delay, but we were out of town for the holiday last Thursday on...but we came back early due to all the rain!

I think half the challenge of making a truly fabulous card is the colors you pick. Honestly, love you picks. Bold, bright, and fabulous!
