A while back when I was stumbling around the web I happened upon a digital stamp site called Just Some Lines. Have you heard of it? I had never heard of them nor seen their images used. How narrow is my field of vision? I don’t remember what I was looking for at the time, but up popped a link and I checked it out. Naturally I went straight to the animals and found lots I adore and will return to purchase later. First, though, I clicked on the '”Try before you buy” category where this sweet little bird awaited. Love! Thought I’d make a Valentine for a friend.
This simple but, oh, so sweet image required very little coloring. I printed on X-Press It Blending Card and used these Copic markers:
I fit the circle cut image panel back into the die after the bird was colored and sponged a hint of pink around the edges, and just for kicks I used a wide, stiff paint brush to stipple white acrylic paint onto the colored cardstock. Some flourishes, a die cut heart (thanks again, Sherri!), and a silk bow with silver cord finish it off.
I don’t usually post on the weekends, but beginning Tuesday I’ll be sharing six (!) days of Power Poppy previews, so thought I’d slip this in now. I hope you enjoy! See you next week!

Oh what a little cutie. The papers complement the style of the image perfectly. I love this card.

Love, love, love! Leslie this image and the way you pulled it all together is so sweet! I never heard of them either, but went to take a look and I think I'm hooked! I love the softness of your colouring and the bit of stippled white paint just adds that bit of extra softness to the red. Very clever my friend! Your finishing details always wow me,love the heart with the flourish and they way you tied it all together with a bow. Beautiful! Oh my did you say sneak peaks and 6 of them, I can't wait! I'm so glad you squeezed this one in to post. You make me want to go colour now, but I have no time today :(.
Enjoy your day.

Especially with that adorable heart circle (which is now on my wish list!)ha ha I've never thought of adding a bow to that little heart before, but LOVE it! It's so great seeing someone else's ideas. P.S. I'm kind of in puppy withdrawal.....isn't it about time for some more pictures?
