Hello! ‘Tis the season of love and I’m back with another Valentine today -- something new from Power Poppy! I don’t know if you caught The Big News on the Power Poppy blog Wednesday, but here’s the gist of it: Every month on the 15th Power Poppy will be releasing a gorgeous new botanical digital stamp – count on it! Marcella calls it Instant Garden, and there’s a brand new team of Instant Gardeners to reveal it each month. Check out the Power Poppy Blog for the link list and prepare to swoon. We’ll start sharing peeks of the February clear stamp release on the 27th of this month, too. Lots going on at Power Poppy!
Today it’s the Bloom Brigade’s turn to have our way with the new digi release – La Vie en Rose. Marcella has provided options with this digi set, including two sentiments, both of which I used on my card, but you can insert any sentiment you prefer. I chose to make a traditional lovey-dovey Valentine.
Lots of hearts and a little cherub for whimsy, a frilly-curly bow topped with a filigree heart, pink and red and love all over. . . and at the center of it all Marcella’s beauty of a rich red rose.
I printed on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with these Copic markers:
Inside:
The curly bow, by the way, is organdy rosette ribbon trim. I cut a length of two rosettes and cinched them in the middle with gold cord pulled up and tied through the gold metal heart.
It’s also PEEP OF THE WEEK CHALLENGE time. I did say there was a lot going on, didn’t I? I spied quite a few lovely Power Poppy cards this week and it does my heart good, I tell you.
Now, feast your eyes on more La Vie en Rose goodness and see its versatility. A rose is a rose and was always a rose. . .
Love to all, and I’ll see you again soon!
Stamps: Power Poppy La Vie en Rose digital stamp set Paper: X-Press It Blending Card, ivory (inside) red, pink, black, Whimsy Stamps Whimsy Romance designer paper Ink: Printer, Copic markers as pictured above Accessories: Ribbon rosette trim, gold cord, heart trinket, pearls, Cheery Lynn Sweetheart Frame, Impression Obsession Cupids, heart punch and Spellbinders heart dies (inside)

Leslie,
Your rose and gorgeous and I have one like it in my back yard. I have tried coloring roses so they look like the one in my back yard.
By sharing your Copic colors you have given me an opportunity to try it again, and hopefully I can do it well enough this time.
Thanks,
Julie

Beautifully designed, Leslie. I've given some thought about what I find attractive about your lovely artwork. It's design diversity. You are never afraid to change things up - I like that. I've always felt a senior designer should be well rounded in all aspects of card crafting - you have always fit that bill for me. From your coloring techniques (never flat), impeccably executed details (that compliment the theme), to the beautifully photographed finished card. Add consistency to all these attributes and it adds up to a top notch designer!

Gorgeous card Leslie! That rose is a stunner. It's in almost vintage style which I love. I'm off to check the digis out. There's never enough digi flowers, so I'll bag some while I'm there. xxx
