When I made this card I was in a Power Poppy and keep-it-flat mood. Apparently I was feeling a little fancy, too, judging by all those intricate die cuts and pearls. What comes out of my stamp room is whatever seizes me at the time. How about you?
I used my beloved Azalea stamp set with a Good Thinking: Renewal sentiment. I’m especially fond of this particular sentiment, but there are many useful sentiments in the set. I stamped the Azaleas in Memento Toffee Crunch and colored with Copic markers RV000, RV63, RV66, YG93 and YG99. The pearls are Liquid Pearls. I haven’t used this color in a long time and it seems to have thickened up. Or maybe it’s just my inexpert use of them. They are all different shapes and sizes and to this day they still feel a little tacky. The usual tapping on the underside of the paper did not take the Hershey Kisses-like point out of some of them. We’ll just pretend they are honest to goodness genuine pearls, not cultured, which would explain their irregularity.
Hey, I’m almost caught up! One more tomorrow and that’ll do it. I hope you can check back then. It’s another Power Poppy challenge and another chance to win a stamp set. If you like flowers and Golden Retrievers I’ve been posting those over on Goldens and Garden. I know some of you visit both blogs. You are so kind! Take care, my friends!

This is just lovely! I love the dies, the colors, that sweet clump of flowers, the cute pearls and of course the sentiment. Quite a list I have going on here. Have a great day!

Oh, Leslie, what a beautiful card! The dies are beautifully layered, and they really showcase this beautiful azalea in the corner with the lovely sentiment (may break down and have to get that!!). Your coloring and using the Toffee Crunch make for a beautiful flower that looks like a photo - stunning! And as far as I'm concerned, those are real pearls...gorgeous! Hugs!

Oh Wow that is stunning, you achieved the look of dimension with your coloring of the flowers, such pretty layering of the die framing. I have the same problems with my liquid pearls.

OMG! I was just drooling over this card & it took me two scans to realize the "flowers" in the corner were not actual artificial flowers! Leslie, I'd say your flower coloring is beyond perfect if you can do that! I love this card!

This design is totally over the top Leslie. The depth and dimension of the azaleas is just amazing. The sentiment is perfect for the design.

The depth of your azaleas is amazing, Leslie. They have a beautiful 3D look. Gorgeous coloring, and a beautiful layout.

The azaleas are so dimensional looking! Beautiful. As for me, I tend to gravitate to the simpler things. (I do love those Power Poppy sentiments! I used one on my most recent card, along with the Gerberas.)

Leslie, this card is amazing! Your flowers look so real, love the depth you create when colouring. Fabulous layout using your dies. I haven't stamped in a couple of weeks, just got home tonight from vacation, so hopefully by the first of the week, I will get back into stamping. Thanks again for all your inspiration.

I do believe you picked real azaleas and glued them on this card! They just pop off the page! Love, love, love the beautiful SB dies you used!

Funny that you were in a keep-it-flat mood when you made this card, because the very first thing I noticed when I saw this card was the azaleas, and I honestly thought you had laid real flowers on top of your card! Amazing!

Those azaleas are as pretty as can be. It was a great idea to stamp in a light brown instead of black. More realistic image this way.
Yep, it sounds like the liquid pearls are aging. The only color i go through quickly is white. The others are a bit goopy.

I don't know how I missed this card, but I did...your coloring of these azaleas is nothing short of spectacular, Leslie! Seriously, they look amazing. What a lovely combination of distressed papers and beautiful diecuts...the perfect backdrop for those azaleas! :)

I don't know how I missed seeing this card before. LOL! I see I'm not the only one. I love the colors that you used for this. Purple is my favorite color. This is just absolutely lovely.
