Happy day! We had a beautiful Wednesday here on the Oregon coast – perfect spring weather, very energizing. Since I didn’t have to go to work I spent the day cleaning house and hanging around on the deck with the dogs and the hubby. It felt so good! Just before dinner I decided to make a card, and in keeping with our bright and beautiful day it had to be bright and beautiful, too, so I went with my favorite thing to stamp and color – flowers!
Once again I was inspired by Seize the Sketch and this time I’m actually current, so here it is – Seize the Sketch #15 and the Copic markers I used for coloring:
Honestly, I intended to use some of my brand new designer paper, but this is one of those instances where I colored first and then tried to match up the paper. No matter, it’s all good. My BasicGrey Green at Heart hasn’t been out for a while and it’s certainly colorful.
This was a rather quick crafty interlude. No stitching and maybe not as much attention to the coloring as usual, but it was fun and I loved how easy it was with the sketch all ready to go. I could become a sketch-following-fanatic, I think. Back to work for the remainder of the week, now. Have a lovely day!
Stamps: Flourishes Zinnias Paper: Memory Box Willow, Classic White, BasicGrey Green at Heart designer paper Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers for coloring Accessories: Button, linen thread, Flourishes tag die, Spellbinders Standard Circles Large and Lacey Circles, Scotch brand foam mounting tape
Oh such a pretty card Leslie. I love the colours you've used. So fresh and definitely says Spring.

good morning, Leslie! Your day off sounded heavenly, and I am glad you had good weather to bask in. Such pretty vibrant colors in your Zinnias (a lovely image), and It's difficult for me to imagine that you could fussy cut around the shape the way you have. Beautifully done with the lid shown at the side, your card again brings a happy, peaceful sigh to my soul, where I enjoy Beauty most fully! Beautiful card! And now, I hope the rest of the week is kind to you! hugs, de

Your card is simply a joy to look at. What a beautiful way to compensate for a snowy, frigid, windy, bleak day in southern Quebec! A breath of spring! The colours and colouring knocked my socks off. It's a delightful creation. I think I enjoy your days off as much as you do.

I love sketches too, Leslie! And, you did such a beautiful job interpreting this one. I knew those were Basic Grey papers the minute I saw them but I couldn't remember the name. Thanks for saving my the trouble of googling them. I've always loved that collection so I don't know why I never bought it. Anyway, those papers complement your lovely colored image perfectly!

Leslie, this is just gorgeous! Love the paper you used with the flower. Can't wait to see real flowers again. I'd settle for seeing the lawn at this point!

It makes me feel that spring is really coming, not that you could tell that here this week - very windy & cold! I couldn't tell that it was a quick crafty interlude - beautiful job!

that is Beautiful, such great papers you found to go with your flowers. I tend to do it both ways, either color first or find the papers first, it was harder before I started buying all these papers. Love that sentiment on the little tag, sure to brighten anyone's day!!
