Hello, again! Today I'm sharing a card which I made back in November and just never got around to posting. My retired husband made a winter project of painting our deck furniture and after showing him a picture of some colors I wanted to use, he came home with a selection of paint chips. I chose shades of green, blue, and a spicy/rusty orange. Yes, our deck furniture is now very colorful. All this against our cheerful yellow house – I do love color!
Generally, I’ll use the leftover paint chips for bookmarks, but when I was working with this paper on some other cards I realized how nicely these colors coordinated. So there you go . . . some scallops and stitching and pretty die cut flowers . . .
. . . a trio of flags, some fuzzy brads, and a crisp white embossed card – simple and cheerful! The stitched designer paper strips cover up the utilitarian elements on the paint chip – you know, the printing and the white divisions between the colors.
Just using up some more of those scraps. Have yourself a happy day!
Stamps: Flourishes Summer Blossoms (sentiement) Paper: Classic White, paint chip, retired Stampin’ Up! Ginger Blossom designer paper Ink: Palette Noir Accessories: Fuzzy brads, Spellbinders Pennant dies, Heartfelt Creations flower dies, Fiskars scallop edge scissors
A very cheerful card Leslie. Beautiful colour combo, love all the details on this. I remember a few years back when stamping on paint chips were 'the in thing'. I still have some of my favourite combo colours in my drawer. Thanks for sharing your wonderful idea in using these paint chips. This card makes me smile. Have yourself a wonderful day!

You are just so versatile and creative with everything you do. Those colors would also have been beautiful on your lawn furniture, but I love what you did with it. Your beautiful flower just really sets it off. Job well done as usual.

What a dandy idea for a very effective card. It radiates good cheer and happiness - just what is needed on a cold blustery polar vortex day. Thanks for starting my Friday with a big smile.

I love your pretty flowers and the Swiss dots background piece. And your stitching is wonderful. Great furniture, too!

What a great idea! I never thought of using the chips on a card. When the grandchildren were younger they loved to play with them and then we also made bookmarks out of them - but never put them on a card. I really like the flower as well! Thanks for a great idea!

OH, I forgot...loved it that you received a wheelbarrow one year for Mother's Day...I LOVED it when he got me the John Deer Gator, it has a dump on the back, so I can load all my trimmings, haul them in the woods and dump them...love that and Nellie loves to ride in it!! I have a large garden and that thing is the best!!

Do you have any idea the run on paint chip samples you are creating with this beautiful card? I can see it now, aisles filled with women collecting paint samples to make cards! I hope they don't take all the good ones before I get there! ha ha Seriously, this card is just gorgeous! I love everything about it & that flower is spectacular!

Paint chips? Well of course you did that! What a super great idea! I love to repurpose things; I have saved pretty boxes from perfumes I get as gifts, you know, the ones with the lacy edges? Some day, I should just sit down and pull all that "stuff" out, and see what inspires me. This is a beautiful card Leslie! Thanks for sharing it!

so pretty and colorful Leslie. I love your white dotted panel on 1/2 of your bg too. Really makes the rest of your card pop. Awesome way to use paint chips and scraps of old DSP too. TFS and always inspiring.

Now that is so very clever, Leslie!! I have never been a big fan of paint chip cards, but I really like this idea!! Your card is so cute and cheerful, love your big flower, too! I still have some of that paper, too, way down deep in a drawer.

Fanulous use of paint chips! One would never know. You chose the perfect patterned paper to coordinate with them.

I love this card and how you used the stitched pattern paper! You have certainly taken the paint chip card to the next level! Your pattern paper matches the paint chip perfectly, but I would wager a bet saying that we both have enough paper to match every Benjamin Moore swatch!
