When we were out tromping the trails with the dogs the other day I noticed the wild asters were in bloom. Well, of course, I had to make a card to herald their arrival. They’re actually a rather scraggly plant, but their bright blue flowers had my head turning all afternoon.
I just happened to have a blue flower eyelet that matched the Spring Iris paper and the fall aster flowers, and I used up the very last length of this particular ribbon which matched everything.
I colored with Copic markers using the same colors as those on the violets card I shared the other day (scroll down to see marker colors). Again, the cardstock of the image panel was white, but I colored it ivory with an E50 marker. The tag is regular Classic Ivory cardstock. They turn out a pretty good match and it’s good to know I can do this when the designer papers I ultimately choose beg for ivory rather than white cardstock. See below for a full list of ingredients.
Have a happy day!
Stamps: Flourishes A Year in Flowers 3, Calla Lilies (sentiment) Paper: SU! Naturals Ivory, CTMH Spring Iris, Flourishes Classic Ivory and Classic White, My Mind’s Eye A Beautiful Life designer paper Ink: Palette Noir, Close to Cocoa, Copic markers for coloring Accessories: Ribbon, linen thread, eyelet, SU! Vine Street embossing folder, Martha Stewart Arched Lattice edge punch, Spellbinders Standard Ovals Large and Labels Eighteen, Scotch brand foam mounting tape
Very pretty...love the shading of the peach tones, a gorgeous contrast with the purple flowers!! Isn't it grand to use up a ribbon...I know it excites me...lol!!

Your Aster's are stunning. The embossed panel stands out nicely.
Asters are one flower I have never planted. I believe my MIL has some in her yard. My summer flowers in the front yard are starting to look horrible because they are in the sun all day long. Time to get some fall Mums and make it look pretty again. :)

Another of my all-time favrouite Leslie cards. I am very fond of the palette you've chosen. The ribbon draws all the element together. Of course, your colouring takes my breath away, as usual. What's not to love about this card!

Just Beautiful! What type of cs do you use for your copics on this card. Love the idea of using E50 to warm up the white, very creative. Loving this vine embossed background as well. So many elements, so elegant! Thanks so much.

Wild Asters? That sounds beautiful, Sue. I wonder if asters would grow down here during the winter? I discovered that snapdragons did beautifully last winter, and will try them again. Your card is so pretty, so as usual, I just have to pin it. Your card pieces always look so "together" and truly beautiful - crisp and clean, lovely colors, and those special touches you provide. Your cards are frequently repinned from my pinterest account just in case ou were wondering. Thanks for sharing the stitching idea. hugs, de

Oh my Leslie this is just Gorgeous, I too think the plant isn't all that great, but they produce lovely flowers and you have done them justice, love the papers and embellishing also it all came together beautifully. I also love how you have been turning you cardstock a bit more ivory, my cardstock that says it is ivory always looks white to me.

You know how much I love your floral designs - yes? I drink in all the beautiful coloring and study each element - embossing that repeats the same shape in the Aster petal (and the small dp print), even the die cut border and the flower eyelet. Don't you love it when a plan comes together?!! Beautiful inspiration through nature - love it! So glad you enjoyed the day outside with the family too. We've been having beautiful fall weather (something I missed while we were in Phoenix). We're getting ready to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary with a trip to the Blue Ridge mountains in western Virginia. I can't wait to see all the fall beauty. : )
Hugs,
Susie ~

Oooo, how pretty! Gorgeous coloring on those flowers, and I love the sanded die cut and base mat. That, and the sweet pastel ribbon, give the card a nice, soft feel.

Charming and sweet. I am sure that the "scantly" ones you talked about will be in full glory soon again. Wonderful coloring Leslie and I like the stitching.
