I guess I didn’t quite hit the clean and simple mark, but my intentions were good. I started out determined to do the CAS(E) this Sketch #47, and then it got not quite so clean and simple. However, clean and simple is a relative term. Whereas ordinarily I’ll color and stitch and die cut and piece together multiple designer papers, this card has. . . well. . . not quite all of that. There's no coloring or stitching or die cutting. That makes it a little simpler, at least.
I used my SU! Stippled Blossoms set for the flowers – quicker than coloring, even with the cutting out. I’m trying to stick to a fall theme and the flower colors were inspired by a fall flower arrangement I recently put together. I used Creamy Caramel and Chocolate chip on the large flower, Groovy Guava and Really Rust on the small flowers. The leaves are slightly darker with Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip. Love these two-step stamping sets for how simply you get beautiful results. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin’ Up! set, Wishes Awash.
Here’s the sketch so you can see how far I veered off from the intended simplicity:
Okay, another try. . . only two items to cut out, a pre-cut textured card, fewer layers. This is as close as I’m going to get to clean and simple today. I made the wavy border with a Fiskars punch, the SU! Autumn Leaf Prints (retired) were stamped in Really Rust and Close to Cocoa. I used an SU! sentiment, Heard from the Heart. The small leaves stamped on the sentiment panel are another retired SU! set, Petite Patterns. I stamped off Creamy Caramel once to get a lighter shade.
I was fortunate enough to win a paper pad blog candy from Linda recently, and she surprised me by including an extra paper pad and a few embellishments. In the Crate Paper Pretty Party pad I found these papers more than suitable for a fall card. The button is one of the embellishments Linda sent. Thank you, Linda!
I think I covered all the details. Oh, I should mention the cardstock I used for stamping on is Flourishes’ Classic Ivory, and the pre-cut textured card (card #2) is something I purchased ages ago from Hero Arts. Card #1 measures 6 3/4” x 3 3/4”. Card #2 measures 6” x 4 1/4”.
I’ll see you again soon with more of the many cards I have on my to do list. Take care, and have a great day!
Whether they are CAS or not they are both lovely! I really love the first one! Hope you have a wonderful week!

I think they are pretty CAS but hey, what do I know. :) These are both beautiful and who would think to do flowers using Creamy Caramel. Congrats on your win and receiving some fantastic gifts.

These are so pretty, Leslie! I think the simpler the card, the more precise it must be because every tiny boo boo on it will show up. These are SO LOVELY, peaceful and full of Nature. My favorite is the first one because I've always admired that image. But I do own the sentiments, which have not been used for years - you make me want to use them again. Your cards are beautiful, Leslie. Wish I could do more with white. I'm like "Pig Pen" on Charlie Brown - I just cannot keep white clean LOL

There is something so special about fall, and its fabulous colours. You've incorporated all I love about this season beautifully in these two cards. Lovely cards and sentiments.

You amaze me with your artistic eye for textures and colors. I love every single detail of each card. Same sketch and fall theme, but each card so different. TFS my friend...

These are just awesome! The first one just blew me away & I can't decide if I love it more than the second or if it is a tie! It's kind of like someone holding out two of your favorite candy bars & telling you to decide which one you want. Both? ha ha Love the fall feeling to both of them!

Both cards are absolutely beautiful! Love the both and I think your form of CAS is perfect!

They are both fabulous, Leslie, and I would consider them to be Clean and Simple. Love the fall colors and the stamps you chose.

Both of these are stunning, Leslie. I love the pretty die cut border on these. :)

These are two beautiful cards, Leslie. And, I'd considered both of them pretty CAS. ;) I just love that wavy leaf border punch, especially on the 2nd one where you doubled up with it. I sure do wish I could wield a pair of scissors as well as you do. Those fussy cut images look like they've been die cut, they are cut so perfectly!

They are both gorgeous, love the flower one and not having to color the flowers must make it go a lot quicker, neat border die for an autumn card!

Two gorgeous, chic and classy creations! Your cutting on the florals and leaves is perfect. So beautifully made!

Leslie these are wonderful. That 1st card is fabulous (my favorite of the two). I love the punch you used. Perfect for fall.

Both are beautiful fall cards Leslie.

I like both versions of this sketch. The top one with flowers really speaks to my heart, of course, but those leaves paired with a yummy textured button also looks very handsome.
