Hello, stamping friends! Monday is happily behind me and Tuesday is my first Friday of the week (since I don’t work Wednesdays) and I’m looking forward to living in the sunshine tomorrow. I won’t be lying about on a tropical island, or swimming the sea, but with the way the wind comes in from the ocean in these parts I’m sure I’ll drink plenty of wild air.
I love the Emerson quote that’s part of this Beach Life set from Flourishes. One of the baristas in our coffee shop at work is getting married in August and honeymooning in Cancun. Rather than a wedding card and gift, a couple of us are getting a vacation package together for her – sunscreen, flip flops – that sort of thing, and I made this card to go with it.
I didn’t use a single new product on this card. Sometimes the old reliables are just the ticket. I stamped on Flourishes Classic White cardstock with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copic markers. To the left of the palm trees is the shoreline stamp that comes with the set. I extended the shoreline to the right, hand drawn with a Stampin’ Up! Close to Cocoa marker. There are more details in the recipe below my signature.
Any ideas as to what else we might put in her Cancun vacation package? We just want her to know we’re thinking about her and we do appreciate her. Have a beautiful day!
Stamps: Beach Life (Flourishes) Paper: Sage textured, saffron, Classic White, Webster’s Pages Seaside Retreat designer paper Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Ruby Red (quote), Close to Cocoa marker, Copic markers for coloring Accessories: Baker’s twine, natural trim, linen thread, Scotch brand foam mounting tape (to pop up image panel)
Some nice moisturizer lotion is always appreciated when you are out in the wild air. Oh to drink the wild air! I do love the beach and miss being there! Your card is amazing and I just know she is going to be so pleased with what you do for her!

Wow, this is so amazing! Such a peaceful scene. I can almost hear the waves crashing on the shore. You might tuck in some aloe vera just in case she's in the sun too long.

Leslie, what a fantastic idea for a vacation package. I was thinking of a moisturizer as well, and maybe for the lips a Bee Balm stick - love that stuff. Or even some Aloe Vera cooling jell just in case she gets a bit too much sun! Your card is perfect (as always)- love all the details, colours etc. I've always wanted this set every time I see someone create with it, now I know I really need to have this!

Great card! I can almost smell the ocean air and feel the tropical breeze. She's going to love this. How about tucking in a few pesos to buy a cold drink on the beach?

Great gift idea and serene card to match! How about a waterproof set of playing cards or couple of magazines to read on the beach?

lovely. interesting we both posted the feeling of the sea air today...
PS when I look at that 1st palm tree on the left, I wanted it to be partially stamped on your quote so it would be in the foreground...
Have a great day

Leslie, this card is BEAUTIFUL! All the papers have a tropical feel to them, and the image is perfect! You are so good at adding background details to complete an image. :) Love the tiny flip flops and rustic ribbon, too. Your barista is going to be thrilled to get this! How about getting her a big scarf she could tie around her swimsuit (Here are some wrap ideas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TU0lo1qsB90). Have a wonderful week!

That is so sweet and thoughtful, Leslie! The card is fabulous, of course - wish I was there! I'd love to add some suggestions to give her, but I'm pretty unimaginative:)

This is a gorgeous card Leslie! I love the beach, water, sand, and of course, the wonderful sun. How great a gift this will be for her. Love the colors and you can almost hear the waves! I was going to suggest a floppy hat too, as well as maybe a pair of sunglasses and some mints (lifesavers). The life saver theme would be cute, and there's nothing like a mint life saver to refresh you anytime! She will be so happy with this! Great job!

Your card is so lovely, Leslie...so many wonderful elements to add texture!! And the scene is colored so vividly, oh my! I like those foldable grass mats, they take up less room than a towel and you can shake the sand out of them. But I'm sure your group has come up with something great!
