There’s a house I pass on my way to and from work that had the prettiest combination of Lavender and Columbine blooming out front this spring, so when I sat down with this image I hoped to reproduce those colors here. These flowers, of course, are not Lavender and Columbine, but the colors are the same. It seems such a lovely, old fashioned pairing and this is, indeed, a vintage image, an embroidery pattern, in fact. Can you imagine this as an embroidered piece? It would be spectacular!
The image can be found, free for the taking, on the Digital Two For Tuesday blog right here. The florals Cora has been sharing there lately truly set my heart aflutter. Each is a beauty!
I colored this with Copic markers and cut it out so I could place it over the frame and lattice. The sentiment is an oldie but goodie from Inque Boutique (out of business). I searched and searched for designer paper that would make me happy with this image, but everything seemed too competitive, so I settled for subtlety. The frame actually is made of designer paper, but the pattern is negligible. In order to get a little more substance from the designer paper I glued the paper to a lightweight cardstock before I cut it with the die. The card, itself, is 4 1/4” x 6”, which I needed to accommodate the frame.
I’ll sum up the card’s ingredients in the recipe, below. I do hope you enjoyed the flowers today. I’ll see you again soon!
Stamps: Free digital image from Digital Two for Tuesday, Inque Boutique sentiment Paper: Hero Arts pre-cut card, Flourishes Classic White and Classic Ivory, retired Stampin’ Up! designer paper (frame) Ink: Printer, Chocolate Chip, Copic markers for coloring Accessories: Kaiser pearls, Spellbinders Foliage Frame, Fancy Tags, and Lattice dies, Scotch brand foam mounting tape
This is stunning. Love the color of the flowers and your frame is amazing! Just Beautiful!

Beautiful, I think pattern paper would have been too much for it also, this way it takes center stage and your dies in the back give it wonderful framing!!

So very pretty Leslie. Columbine has already bloomed and gone here. It isn't a flower that lasts long in my area. Does yours stay around for a while?

Good Morning, Leslie - what you have done with this gorgeous digi image is amazing! Love the slight "halo" around the fussy cutting, and the AMAZING shading and colors. I can smell the fragrance of your creation all the way in Florida! Pretty lattice work in the back, and just an oh-so-pretty, breathtaking, gorgeous, wonderful, peaceful work of art! Thanks for sharing your inspiration behind the card, too. hugs, de

This is just gorgeous. It doesn't need any other dp. That would just take away from the beauty of the flowers.
I love visiting Digital 2 4 Tuesday. Need to go check out the new things she has.
