This clean and simple sketch came in handy for me when I needed a quick thank you card. It is CAS(E) this Sketch #30. I’m playing along two weeks in a row, now. I’ve never been consistent about participating in challenges, but the very nature of CAS means I shouldn’t have too much trouble finding time for this one. I made this in minutes before heading out to the garden this sunny morning.
Here’s the sketch I followed:
For the flags I decided to use ribbons from an old Stampin’ Up! Sweet Shop ribbon collection, and that decided the colors. The polka dot background is stamped in Apricot Appeal, the sentiment in Rose Red, and the brads are Certainly Celery. It’s an old color combo, but I still like it just fine. All these matching Stampin’ Up! colors and accessories helped to move the stamping process along quickly since there was no guess work as to which colors best matched or coordinated.
I’d like to thank the gals at CAS(E) this Sketch for some wonderful clean and simple inspiration. I need all the help I can get! And thank you for stopping by for a visit. Have a great day!
Stamps: Distressed Dots, Heard from the Heart (both Stampin’ Up!) Paper: Whisper White, Apricot Appeal Ink: Apricot Appeal, Rose Red Accessories: Brads, ribbon, Fiskars scallop edge scissors
A great idea to use ribbons for your banners and I love that sentiment! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS(E) this Sketch!

It might be CAS, but it is beautiful!! I do love the use of the ribbon bits....so nice to use older things...I found a challenge new to me "shopping your stash"....love that, as I have tons of things to use up....whoops, didn't mean to rattle on, must be my "old age"..hah!! Have a nice Sunday!!

Great take on the sketch. Love that you used ribbon instead of paper for the banners as well as the tiny brads. Finishes this off beautifully!

Beautiful job using that sketch. I love your pop of colors against the soft background. I've always loved the color coordination from SU. Makes it so easy to create.

Such a beautiful card, LOVE how you have used the sentiment on the panel! I agree, in theory CAS should be quick and easy but honestly I must be the slowest card maker on earth, I can move elements around for hours lol.
Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS(E) this Sketch this week!

Lovely as a Spring day...and I am really glad to see use of the "old" colors as I am never up on the newest colors. Thanks for sharing the sketch also, it was a good motivator for me this week, Leslie!

Such a lovely, rich card, Leslie - it actually looks elegant though it is also sweet and fun. Love your clean, crisp lines with the stitching, too. Does not look CAS - really pretty! hugs, de

Kudos to you for trying out the clean-and-simple cards, and succeeding too! You picked a really great sketch, and I like that you used some older SU goodies. I've got things from SU that I don't think I'll ever part with; love 'em too much!
