The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, we’re barbecuing and lunching on the deck. Spring has come to the Oregon coast and that means more time outside and less time in my stamp room. I’ve always loved the clean and simple style of stamping as much as I love a card that’s done to the hilt, and now is a good time to practice, I think.
I came upon this sketch at the CAS on Sunday challenge blog. You can find this particular challenge here. Simple, isn’t it? That’s exactly what I’m looking for. I didn’t deviate from the sketch at all, other than to add the flower and leaf sprig. I made this card in a few minutes before I left the house for work, and it was every bit as satisfying as a card I spend hours (yes, hours!) on. I’ll never give up my coloring and all the fun I have designing a more detailed card, but honestly, there’s something very liberating about clean and simple stamping.
Details are in the recipe. Have a happy day!

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Bloomin’ Marvelous Paper: CTMH Key Lime (sanded to bring out the white core), Flourishes Classic White Ink: Melon Mambo, Always Artichoke, Palette Noir Accessories: Vine St. embossing folder (Stampin’ Up!), Scotch brand foam mounting tape (to pop up the flower)
Your card is quite wonderful. I do love clean and simple!

Absolutely perfect, Leslie! You can do it all, can't you? Thanks for the link to the challenge blog - I didn't know about that one.

Yup I agree, every once in a while a CAS card like this is very satisfying.
Have a great day and I think I'll just make one when I get home.

Pretty card Leslie! Is there anything style you can't make?

This is a fabulous take on that simple and lovely sketch. You kicked it up a notch with the pretty embossing on the green panel. Don't you love some easy, breezy CASness at busy times?

I love your CAS card.....guess it's the time for it, as I did one the other day, too...and just came in from outside...need a shower, but had to sit a spell before I jump in......the pretty design works so well together!!

Leslie, it is very difficult for me to create CAS - it's just not as easy as it looks, is it? This card is very pretty, though, and it does "speak volumes" just by having the colors and essential words. Lovely card! Maybe I can make more, too? hugs, de

I think your card is "bloomin' marvelous". Plus, I agree with Donna. Only those with great talent (like you) can actually succeed at it. The rest of us dull normals (like me) need to fuss up our creations with pretty doodads. As long as we have fun... right!

So pretty, like the embossed piece, and the sweet flower!

I totally agree with you! This is a beautiful card in it's own right, just the same as those more "complicated"...Sometimes less really is more!
Enjoy your wonderful weather. We are finally getting warmer days, but seem to be in a rain pattern at present. Which we DO need!

I love a simple card, something that you can do a couple of in little time to have a stash, yet has great sentiment.
