Hello! Today, I’m playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch #29, and I feel like celebrating because I now have a total of 12 Christmas cards done. I know… not much, but it’s further along than I was last year at this time.
I have just three things to say about this sketch, and that is “thank you, thank you, thank you!” As many of you know, I’m committed to a Christmas card on the 25th of each month in an effort to make some headway before December. Well, I really didn’t feel like making a Christmas card, and I was right down to the wire. When I saw this sketch in my inbox I realized it was exactly what I needed. I popped into my stamp room on my Thursday lunch hour and made this in a few minutes. Yes, it’s simple, and I didn’t bring much in the way of creativity to the party, but, hey, it’s done.
Actually, I like it. I don’t know if it’s because I felt good to have finished it so quickly, or if I’m genuinely leaning toward clean and simple these days. We’ll just have to see how things develop. Here’s the sketch:
I used some old Stampin’ Up! designer paper and added a greeting from Flourishes’ Holiday Greetings set with Brilliant Blue ink on Flourishes’ Classic White cardstock. Three sparkly snowflakes are the circle elements. That’s it!
Now I’m going to do a few handsprings and enjoy my three day weekend. Bless the hearts of all our servicemen, past and present, and those family members who have sacrificed right along with them. Today I’m sending a message of love to all peaceful people in every country, and an especially big hug to all my stamping friends out there. Have a happy day!
That's a great sketch and a great card, Leslie! Love the snowflakes and the pretty blue. Congrats on having twelve Christmas cards done already. (I'm a bit behind myself from last year, but I think that I have 20 done.) I would sure love to see the video of you doing handsprings! Enjoy your three-day weekend. Mine is FOUR! And I spent quite a bit of time in my stamping room yesterday - yahoo!

This is very lovely and such a clean sketch. I am so far behind on Christmas cards this year. I hope I can get started soon or I'll be in big trouble.

Oh! Are you BRAGGING now? Christmas cards being completed in a timely manner AND doing a CAS card? which is very pretty? knowing that I cannot seem to make a CAS card? So you are rubbing my nose in my ineptness? OK - the challenge is on, my friend! LOL Soon - I will make a CAS card in your honor. LOL (maybe) I mean, it will be in your honor, but only maybe it will get done LOL WONDERFUL card - love that soft blue background with the white sparkly snowflakes. Very sweet for Christmas, and just perfect with the classic blue sentiment. Lovely CAS - you always have a new technique or idea. One reason I enjoy your blog (other than because it is YOU), is because your techniques vary, and so do your themes. I never know what will be here, but I know it will be great! hugs, de

Me too! I like your card. It's lovely, Leslie. And you've got 12 more Christmas Cards made, than I have. Good for you. I'm impressed. Handsprings? Why not! There is not enough exuberance in our world Go for it.
Even though it is not Memorial Day up here, it gives me pause for thought. I feel a huge debt of gratitude to all the armed forces personnel, vets and their families. Words can’t express how much they mean to me.
Even more hugs right back. Enjoy your holiday!
