Hello! Today I’d like to share a very simple card I made using Flourishes Botanical Bookplates Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. The floral image is from Vol. 1 and the sentiment is from Vol. 2.
I call this simple because the coloring was really very quick. Stamped in green Palette ink (waterproof) on 90 lb hot press watercolor paper, I added very little color – just a bit of blue and green. It’s a simple layout with a panel of textured blue I’ve had forever, an embossed background, and three little brads. Just enough to remind me how much I love to stamp flowers.
By the way, I got a chuckle from Linda’s comment on my fancy horse card the other day. She asked if I was feeling okay since it was not my usual type of image choice. Well, I forgot to mention I made that card for a 13 year old girl who dreams about horses day and night. I have, in fact, been using up my scant stamping time making special order cards. I enjoy stamping, no matter what I’m working on, but I do so love the flowers. Hopefully, there will be more of those coming soon, between the baby cards and kids’ cards. Thanks for bearing with me!
Have a lovely day, and I’ll see you again soon.
Stamps: Botanical Bookplates Vol. 1, Botanical Bookplates Vol. 2 Paper: Blue textured, green, Flourishes Classic Ivory Ink: Palette Landscape (green), Old Olive, Bashful Blue Accessories: Ribbon, brads, Classic Bookplate die, Swiss Dot embossing folder

Leslie, how serene and peaceful this gorgeous card is! How did you create the blue background? This should be hanging on a wall. It is so pretty! Love the shape of the image and the matching die cut - elegant and interesting. Very pretty textures. I really like the same distressed green frame, around the blue piece - I could easily look at this all day. So pretty! hugs, de

I had never heard of Feng Shui when I met with the landscape architects that would help me create my vision for a garden. In fact, the word never came up during my meetings with them. But, one day in the second season of the garden, I realize why it was so beautiful - we had created balance with all the elements. All this to say:
Botanical designs and Leslie Miller are "always" a work of art. Beautifully balanced in all the elements. These lovely cards teach as well. This time, you taught us that less is more when coloring certain types of flowers. I continue to learn by studying your beautiful work, Leslie.

Another stunning card, Leslie! I'm really glad you explained why it's "simple" because it doesn't look simple to me! Love all the white with the green and blue mixed in. The layout - and everything else! - is wonderful.

Stunning! Leslie this is so elegant, love the textured look of the blue background paper. I like that you stamped the floral image in green ink - I never seem to think to do stamping in different colours other than black or grey. I must give this a try. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend.
