I couldn’t let the occasion pass without using this beautiful set from Flourishes called He is Risen.
I’ve gone a little muted in the colors, and not a lot of embellishment. I almost left the ribbon off, but added it at the last minute. My sewing machine has been giving me fits lately, and the decorative stitching down the side looks more like a tangled fishing net than anything decorative. I’ll have to take some time to figure out what’s wrong. It may be something as simple as a dull needle, but the thread seems to be catching somewhere. Darn.
I watercolored the image on 90 lb hot press watercolor paper, then cut it out and mounted on Scotch brand foam mounting tape. The design is so simple there’s not much more to say about it, and I seem to be plum out of words at any rate.
Thanks so much for dropping in for a visit. I’ll see you again soon!

Beautiful! I wish my sewing machine stitching would look that good when it messes up. The ribbon is so pretty. Glad you added it.

very pretty. Love the ribbon touch. Adds a nice splash of color
needle, tension, dot of oil... hopefully nothing more serious than that.
Have a great day

It's okay, you can just let that pretty card do the talking. :) It is - as always - breathtaking.

Beautiful card-love the image and verse. I have pretty well gone minimalist so would have left the ribbon off-don't know what I will do with all this ribbon (and brads, eyelets, etc) I have collected as I seldom use them anymore-maybe just a phase! :>)

"Simple design" is not the term that comes to mind when gazing at this beauty! Isn't it great when it works that way? Good luck with your sewing maching . . . Linda

You've created a beautiful card. It's the perfect setting for the verse from John 11.25. And... Who gives a hoot about a little stitching? It would have gone unnoticed, had you not mentioned it. But of course, that’s just me. In fact, if I’d noticed the it, I would have tried to copy the look. I adore your work and learn from every card you post. Thank you.

Leslie, It's beautiful with or without the bow. And the stitching doesn't look bad either. I had to take a second look before I noticed. As with all your work - the coloring is always perfect. Love the paper and color choices.
Happy Easter to you and Rich (Wally and Lulu too).
Hugs,
Susie ~
