Hello! I’m still working on children’s birthday cards and that’s all I’m going to do until they’re done. Five more to go. I hope these will be okay for 11 and 12 year olds. I’m not sharing all the cards because I’m beginning to feel like this is The Blog for Children’s Birthday Cards, but since this is a new set, I thought I’d go ahead with these.
I’ve used JustRite’s Topsy Turvy Cakes for both cards. Both are colored with Copic markers. The first card has a sentiment which was originally part of an oval sentiment frame – more words on the bottom with candles and swirlies in between. However, I cut it into four pieces so I could more easily use only part of it, yet I can still piece it back together for the full frame. These are clear stamps, so the cutting was easy.
The second card has all that clean white space I’m loving these days. I used another of my Designables cut and emboss folders. This one is #DS0907.
Shown below are the Copics I used for coloring – same colors on both cakes, but mixed up a little bit. I did not use E50 and E51 on the second card. Those were used only for shading around the image on the first card.
By the way, the camera I lost is gone for good. It was not turned into lost and found. I checked with all the usual sources and no one has seen it. It was a Nikon Cool Pix, which I loved because it took great pictures and was very compact. I could slip it into my pocket and hardly notice it was there. Great for when we were out with Wally and LuLu. Tsk, tsk. Well, hello Canon Elph!
I’ve already ordered it. In the meantime, I do have two other cameras I can use and, thankfully, there weren’t many pictures on the Cool Pix. I always put them on my computer and then clear the card. Later they’re uploaded to Shutterfly and saved to disc.
I’ll leave you with the recipes for today’s cards and wish you a happy day. Take care!

Beautiful birthday card, perfect for young or old! Sorry about your camera, maybe it just hasn't been found yet!

What gorgeous cards! And appropriate for all ages. For instance, I'm a little over the 11-12 age bracket(haha)and would be delighted to receive either. Pity your camera did not turn up, and as Tammy wrote, perhaps it will be turned in yet.

So sorry to hear that old Coolpix never showed up again (that's what I have now). However, I'm in the market for a new camera and have heard this Elph is a good compact one. Please let me know what you think of it, once you get it and begin to use. I appreciate it!
Your cards are sweet! Love the bright, happy colors. I'm sure the girls will too. :)

Leslie, your cards are delightful! Your coloring is amazing as always. Young girls...well, girls of any age will surely love these cards!
BTW, you can share all the kids cards you want. We've loved them all!

Gosh, I sure do love your cards, Leslie! Those Designables are really cool! Bummer about your camera, but at least you are good about getting the pictures off so you didn't lose too many.

Ah, Leslie...I feel just like those cakes...it's been topsy turvy lately but so glad for some card eye candy from you....that Designables embossing template really adds to your perfectly colored cake...you never disappoint...they are both just gorgeous! Good picture tip...I just usually buy a new card...since I don't take the time to upload pics anywhere...not very economical either...I need an assistant, eh? LOL Many Hugs and Love to You!

The children who get those cards are going to be thrilled. Beautiful coloring...love those bright colors! Sorry about the camera. Our oldest son has used an Elph for years and he takes some wonderful photos with it. (Like you...I rarely have photos on the card in my camera; I upload to my hard drive. I also have an external drive which I just used to back up my entire hard drive, but I'm considering an online backup system. My photo collection is huge.)

More than "okay", Leslie! These are both so sweet and bright and perfect for young ladies. This is my first look at those Designables. I love them.

Leslie, your cards are beautiful and I am "way" past the 11 or 12 year old stage and would be very proud to receive either of these cards! My husband bought me this exact Marianne folder and one other one for Christmas so I love that you used it so I can see how versatile it is also. I think I will now go download all the pics on my camera (I hope you still get your old one back).

Fabulous cards for that particular age group. I love seeing all your cards Leslie. So pleased that there weren't many photos on your lost camera and looking forward to seeing the photos you take with your new one.

Leslie, these are both wonderful cards. I love the colours you did these up in. I think the second card is my fav- mainly because of the white background and the image just pops! I so need to get me the Designables- they make a great background! Sorry to hear about your camera - what a shame
