Stamper's Dream is proud to be sponsoring this week's JustRite challenge. Everyone loves sketches, I think, and that's the jist of the challenge. I'll tell you all about it, but first, a little about today's card.
I've used one of four new sets recently released by JustRite. This one is called Applique and you can find it here at Stampers Dream. There can be a lot of different looks for this set, mixing up the borders and centers or, as always, it can be used without the borders if desired. Today I chose to use the "stitched with love" border for a card that appears to have been pieced together in the sewing room.
I stamped and embossed the image twice on Memory Box Gossamer designer paper using Versamark ink and vanilla embossing powder. I punched out the center of one with a 1 3/8" square punch, and the other was cut out with scissors. To give it an aged look I added "staining" with Copic marker E33 and blended into it with the colorless blender pen. I then combined my two pieces and glued those to a stitched vanilla square, wrapped in celery silk ribbon and stained with caramel ink directly from the pad to the paper. A tiny pearl was added to the center.
Continuing with the aged look, I tattered the edge of some ivory crochet trim and lightly touched the edges here and there with the E33 Copic. The "Best friend" was isolated from one of the sentiments in the JustRite Loving Thoughts set. More frayed edges, sanded cardstock, stitches and buttons completed my stitched with love card.
I used the challenge sketch, but turned it on its side just for fun. Now for a look at the sketch which Tosh created for us:
Challenge details: The winner will receive a $50 Gift Certificate to Stamper's Dream. There will also be three honorable mention winners who will win a JustRite stamp set of their choice. Pretty great prizes!
To enter, you'll need to make a card using the sketch, and JustRite stamps. Then you must post your entry to your blog or an online gallery, and link using the new linking system on the JustRite Inspiration Blog challenge post. All important details can be found there as well.
You'lll have until next Thursday, May 6th at 9am Central to make your project and enter a link to it on the JustRite blog post. The winner will be chosen and announced a little later that day on the JustRite Inspiration Blog, as well as on the Stamper's Dream blog. I hope you'll have a chance to play and, better yet, I hope you'll be a winner!
