Every now and then I like to get out an old stamp set and really put it through its paces. I still love this Stampin’ Up! Simply Sweet set, one of the first SU! sets I ever bought, and I gave it a good work out with multiple cards I made for my “for sale” basket at work. Most of the cards were similar in style, and I managed to use up the last of my BasicGrey Urban Prairie paper in the making. I like the way the colors came together on this one. The blue is SU!’s Pool Party.
I made a couple of cards in this style, as well, and finished off some old My Mind’s Eye Kalaidoscope paper. The Cuttlebug Bloom Dots embossing folder is one of the first I bought and it seemed to go rather well with the paper.
The images are stamped on Flourishes Classic White cardstock, colored with Copic markers, and glitter added.
I very much enjoy reaching to the back of the drawer, so to speak, and pulling something to the front once in a while. I hope to do this more often and use up some older supplies at the same time. Better that than tossing it out, yes? Thank you for dropping in!

I just love both of these. They both make me smile!

These are both so beautiful. I just love the soft colors and all the details and layers on the first one.

Leslie, these are adorable!
One of my favorite things is to pull out/dust off an oldie but goodie and make it new again. I think it helps me justify hanging on to everything. LOL

I forgot I had these stamps-you did a wonderful job with making it feel like Spring with the colors. I am definately going to get the golden oldies out from the dark and let them come out to play. Great cards!

Greetings from Buffalo, NY! I've always liked these stamps and I love what you've done with them, Leslie! I usually just stamp one row to use on my card, but you've given us some great and different ideas! I love the color combo's too! Thanks for sharing, Debbie

What fun, cheerful and colorful cards Leslie, I recognize most of your older goodies from our very early days of stamping. Here we are probably around 15 years later and still passionate about our stamping :-) TFS my friend..

Oh WOWZA! I am a Stampin UP! demonstrator but just for the last 2 years. I must go to EBAY and find this set. I just LOVE both of these cards Leslie! Those dresses are just too cute. You do an amazing coloring job too and the coordinating papers go so well. Thanks for the sun-shiney look! Awesome!

These are both very pretty cards, the colours are so fresh and co-ordinate beautifully. We're always tempted to buy more new goodies but it's nice to dig out stuff we bought from years ago and re-use them, these were made to last after all. Give Wally and LuLu a hug from me. Alexandra x

Beautiful cards Leslie, so fun and cheerful! I have this set too and can't remember the last time I used it! Thanks for encouraging us to use some of the older stamps we have forgotten. Have a great weekend!

Your cards are gorgeous! I have this stamp set too & will now have to pull it out of the back of MY drawer! ha ha In fact, I even have that daisy on the first card too! We think alike! I'm so glad to see you posting yours cards again.

Hello Leslie! I am SO happy to see you use this set. I have it too, and it rarely sees ink anymore. I'd be loathe to part with it, and you've inspired me to get it out sometime soon (so many stamps, so little crafting time!).
I like both of these versions. Those dresses sure are happily dancing across the card!
PS love the new blog header.

Great cards and great design! I wonder if you could mention the dress stamp set? Thx.

Hello, Jan:
Both stamp images are from the retired Stampin Up! Simply Sweet set. The set has 4 stamps -- a row of chairs, row of birthday cakes, row of vases, and row of dresses. Very cute! Have a good day!
