My stamp drawers are full of Hero Arts because for a time, years ago, I was able to purchase them at 25% above wholesale. Heck of a deal! That’s not the only reason for purchasing them, of course. I did simply love them. Still do. This one is called Glass Vases and, chances are, is no longer available. I don’t feel the image is dated, though. I love this type of illustration and thought it would be nice for one of the March birthdays I’ll be stamping for.
I did some very simple watercoloring with Stampin’ Up! inks on 90 lb hot press watercolor paper. I used So Saffron, Regal Rose and Pumpkin Pie for the flowers. Old Olive for the leaves, and Bashful Blue for the water. The shading around the image was done with Apricot Appeal. I rummaged around in the scrap drawer and brought out some old, but still pretty Chatterbox papers for the layout. A little stitching, a sentiment (also Hero Arts), a couple of rhinestones, and it’s done. Simple and sweet.
Time to put my feet up and cuddle with the doggies for a while. I’ll see you again soon. Thanks so much for your visit!
Stamps: Glass Vases, Wishing a Happy Day sentiment (Hero Arts) Paper: 90 lb hot press watercolor, Flourishes Classic White, Chatterbox designer paper Ink: Palette Noir, Stampin’ Up! inks as listed above for watercoloring Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Modern Label punch, rhinestones, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

Such a lovely and sweet card. I really love HA stamps as well. They are well-made and the images stay with trends.

Hero Arts stamps are timeless and this one is a perfect example of that. You have created a very feminine card using these colours ... very pretty.

Very beautiful card Leslie and not dated at all. I actually own that stamp set as well and love it! Now you've got my mind going and since I need to make a feminine birthday card for the first of March, I may make one similar to yours, using the same stamp. Thanks for the great idea!

I'm sure I have this stamp.... however, I would really like to be able to color the way you do. ;-) I even have the SU markers. I should dig the stamp out, I guess.

Leslie, this is so fresh and pretty!! As I read your ink colors, those are ones I just put in a box as they are discontinued and I don't have the reinkers for them. Well, 3 of them are...so I guess I will hold on to the pads and use them for watercoloring. I wonder if you could make a tab or some way to reach your watercoloring techniques/tutorials? You have such great ones here, but I am not always able to find them. Enjoy your doggies!! Thanks, as always, for sharing your lovely work!

Leslie, this is so pretty. Love your soft watercolouring, and the papers are so pretty. I here you about having drawers full of Hero Arts, I too have many. I love them all, but I seldom seem to get around to use them. This is one of my favourite images from HA. I have coloured this many times. Hmmmm... I think you have inspired me to pull mine out again.

Pretty card Leslie. I have many, many Hero Arts stamps that don't see ink anymore. I seem to have so many other things I want to use instead. Please give Wally and Lulu a big cuddle from me.

As usual, your coloring really shines, Leslie. I love the soft shading around each vase, which looks to be filled with crystal clear water.
YOu always choose such gorgeous papers, too! Love the stitching.
