Well, here I am with yet another birthday card, and a very simple one at that. I’ve gone a little nutty over embossing folders lately, especially anything with a frame such as this. It’s a wonderfully quick and simple way to create a nice design for a hand stamped card. This particular frame is courtesy of a Cuttlebug embossing folder from the Heritage collection. I went Googling for a good selection of embossing folders and ended up at 7 Kids College fund where I filled my virtual basket and went home a happy girl. They have so many to choose from. Just look here. I’ll be sharing more of those later.
I’ve used a Lockhart cupcake and an Impression Obsession sentiment. Very simple Copic coloring with these markers:
I had intended to do this without ribbon, but I think the recipient would like to have that little bit of something extra, and I just happened to have this bow already tied and tucked away in one of my ribbon scrap jars. I adhered it with a spot of Aleene’s Tacky Glue, added some rhinestones and called it done. I’ve summed up the simple ingredients in the recipe. Have a wonderful day!
Stamps: Lockhart Violet Cupcake #2012, Impression Obsession sentiment #B5433 Paper: Almost Amethyst textured (Stampin’ Up!), Lemon Tart (PTI), Classic White (Flourishes) Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers for coloring Accessories: Ribbon, rhinestones, Cuttlebug Heritage collection embossing folder

What a sweet card. Love the image and the colors just tell me Spring has to be just around the corner!

Embossing folders are just like purses, Leslie ... a girl can never have too many! This card would make anyone feel good, to receive. The little white chiffon bow is the perfect added touch too.

I use Aleene's Tacky Glue for LOTS of stuff on my cards. :)
I remember this cupcake of yours...you had done a card with three cupcakes in a row, decked out in shades of purple. I had saved a copy of the photo, I thought it was so beautiful.
This CAS version is also very beautiful, and yes, the EF is awesome!

Love your card with the beautiful floral cupcake! Thanks for the link to the great website. I will definitely have to show some self control so that I don't spend my 2 kids college fund at 7 Kids College Fund!

that is a pretty embossing folder and such pretty coloring of your image. Have you had a chance to check out all the new embossing folders coming out from Spellbinders, they are double sided so you get two embossing folders in one, very cool!

My goodness I am going to have to stop "Shopping with Leslie". I bought the dog stamp and the Heritage folders have managed to resist the Designables but only because I wanted them all and couldn't chose. I love your work and enjoy your blogging as well(garden and dogs) Thanks so much for sharing it brightens a dreary winter day. Ann
