Hello out there! It’s Monday night as I write this and it’s been one of those days. We had a good, solid freeze overnight after rain the day before and the roads were very icy as I drove to work. I slid right through an intersection – good thing the light was green – and then I fell down in the parking lot at work – again, because of the ice. I wasn’t hurt… everything is A-okay, but it’s a good day for a hug, don’t you think?
So, I thought I’d share another one of the birthday cards I’ve been diligently working on, and in my mind I’ll put myself in the kitty’s place, getting a nice warm hug from a big golden dog. Hmmm… come to think of it, I know just where I can get a nice warm hug from a big golden dog…
For this card I used an Inky Antics stamp (which has no name on it so I don’t know what to call it) and I watercolored the image to match my Wally and our sweet Marvin kitty (who is no longer with us). I used Stampin’ Up! reinkers in Saffron and Pumpkin for the dog, and Tombow Markers in shades of gray for the cat. I went back to the reinkers to shade around the image in Celery, with the darker Olive just under the dog.
It’s pretty straightforward. I’m keeping it simple so I can get these birthday cards done. Nevertheless, I do love this one. I actually made two adult birthday cards this weekend, but I’ll have to wait till later to share those.
I’ll catch you later in the week. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some of that good old Oregon coast rain tomorrow. See you soon!
Stamps: Inky Antics dog and cat, Stampin’ Up! Hugs and Wishes sentiment Paper: 90 lb hot press watercolor paper, Flourishes Classic Ivory, BasicGrey Sugar Rush designer paper Ink: Palette Noir, various inks and markers for watercoloring (colors mentioned above) Accessories: Self-adhesive flower with rhinestone, corner rounder punch, Scotch brand foam mounting tape (to pop up sentiment panel)

Sorry you had a fall. Glad all is well. I fell last week; tripped on something in the garage...let me just say...I don't bounce anymore! Love the card, such a sweet image. Hope you got a hug!

What a precious card! It just makes me feel good looking at it. Thankfully your skid and fall did not result in serious injury. Phew! Hope Lulu and Wally met you with big hugs and sloppy doggy kisses.
Seems you may have sent your weather our way. We're about to enjoy 15 to 20 cm of snow mixed with freezing rain for good measure. I expect I'll need another look at your card when I get in later today to cheer myself up. Take care!

So adorable. I think that does look a little like Wally. Sorry about your tumble and nothing hurt except your pride. Be careful out there.

That ice you're experiencing doesn't sound like any fun at ALL! Glad you didn't get hurt when you fell. Whew!
What a cute image, and it makes me smile. And yes, of course, you have a big golden dog who is always ready to give you a hug!

MMM the warm coloring is enough to cheer you up too Leslie! Beautiful! Bummer on all that ice in your neck of the woods. Glad you're ok. We're in the deep freeze here with super cold temperatures and snow. Winter has finally arrived.

they are too cute, sure does bring a smile! Love your coloring.... so sorry to hear about your drive into work and your fall, so glad to hear you weren't hurt..... I think that is what I hate the most about the winter is being afraid of falling, I have really banged myself up a couple of times and so now I am scared of it happening again and hurting myself worse.

A very sweet, (( cuddly )) birthday card. I'll bet Wally and Lulu would approve if they could. And we all know they're always up for a hug! I know I'm sending you a big blog ((hug)). Be careful my friend.

Well if this card doesn't just melt your heart. As always I admire your coloring/shading. Speaking of melting, sure hope all the icy roads & parking lot are cleared up today. Glad to hear you weren't hurt in either incident! Yup, I don't doubt that those two special golden dogs of yours were just waiting to soothe your rattled nerves. Consider yourself hugged by me too, Leslie!

I'm so glad you didn't get hurt or run into. We had some snow & very cold temps that made a few corners pretty slick this morning. But, fortunately I don't have to walk across a parking lot! Hope you got big hugs & kisses from those sweet dogs. Love your darling card. Your previous entry w/pics of the dogs is so fun. Thanks for making me smile & a big cyber hug is on the way.

We were happy to get our rain back too. Looks like there is going to be more than enough to go around. Sure glad the light was green. Couldn't you have milked your fall for at least a sick day...to go home and cuddle the doggies and stamp?
LOVED your sweet and beautifully colored hugs nad wishes card too.

Leslie please take care!! You've coloured the image beautifully and yep, Wally colours. I hope Wally and Lulu gave you lots of hugs after your not so good day.

This is adorable. I had this same stamp in my hand Saturday & almost made it up, but picked up another instead. This is one of my favorites & you have done it so beautifully.
Find yourself some of the cleats that fit over your shoes & you will never fall again on the ice! I have worn them for about 5 years now & won't go without them in the winter. Hope you got your doggie hugs!

So fun...someone gave me some images of these doggies a long time ago...I so loved coloring them up!

This card is so cute! Love your watercoloring!
So sorry that you had a difficult time getting to work; glad you made it safe!

You had quite the scarry larry morning on the ice ... there's not much worse in weather conditions than ice. Guess your guardian angel was taking caring of you.
Best part of the day must have been getting home and getting hugs from Wally and LuLu!
Your card is extra cute today ... the puppy looks just like Wally. And I love that you water coloured, which is something I am going back to basics doing again.

Super cute image and wonderful coloring of it. Lovely birthday card. Do be careful out on the ice! My brother lives near Seattle and it does not sound like anyone there will be going out and about for a few days with all the ice and snow.

{{{Leslie}}} Okay I'm not a big golden dog, but sending some cyberhugs anyway!
The card is so darling. What a sweet image. And your zigzag stitching is perfect. Just love it. Adds so much to the overall warm feeling of the card.

Totally adorable card. I love it! - Sorry about your fall. We got the Ice too on top of our snow and it's still a big mess. Trying hard to not fall but it isn't easy.
