I spent some time over the weekend working on the 22 card order I recently committed to, six of which are sympathy cards. This is one of them.
I don’t charge a lot for my cards. In fact, the price is too embarrassingly low to mention, and because of that, I’ll frequently keep them clean and simple. Not always, but a few CAS cards balance out the cards I put more work into as I charge the same price for all of them.
Now, the thing is, I love this card – no bows, buttons, brads, designer paper. A length of pretty lace and an embossed border are all that enhance the stamping. Quick, easy, and very mail friendly. When I was done with it I felt good. I’ll be making more CAS cards and, in fact, have already finished several in the time it normally takes me to make one of my cards.
The floral image is a Hero Arts solid rubber stamp which I inked up with Stampin’ Up! markers in Always Artichoke, Ruby Red, and Basic Black. After stamping I partially edged the image with the fine tip of the marker in the same colors, then went over it with a Tombow blender pen (NOT the same as a Copic colorless blender pen).
The sentiment is one of my newer sets – Stampendous Sincere Sentiments. Lots of ideal sympathy and thinking of you–type sentiments for inside and out. I’m happy that I’ve finally given it a good dose of ink.
Enough about this card. I shouldn’t spend longer writing about it than I did making it, right? I hope you enjoy it. Have a lovely day!
Stamps: Hero Arts flowers (old), Stampendous Sincere Sentiments Paper: Flourishes Classic White Ink: Always Artichoke, Ruby Red, and Basic Black Stampin’ Up! markers, Memento Tuxedo Black Accessories: Lace, Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder

Absolutely gorgeous sympathy card Leslie and it's so nice to open my mail and see an update from you, whether it be cards that you've ceated or pictures of your dog and puppy.

Another classy one, Leslie. I love the soft green lace - matches the leaves of the flowers so nicely. I'm sure your "customer" will be pleased.

Leslie, this is stunning! I have such a hard time with "white space" but you sure don't! Hope you had a wonderfuly holiday!!

Such a nice card, Leslie. I like using the embossing folders and never thought of using just a portion of it as a border. I have this stamp but you really make it come alive! Love the pix of Lulu and Wally.

Leslie, the way you outlined those images almost looks like it could be embossing! At first, that's what I thought you had done. I love that ribbon trim; it's sweet, dainty and different. Where did it come from? The whole card is really, really pretty. I have to save a copy of the pic so I can semi-CASE sometime!

To do "simple" well, one has to be top of their craft. Fortunately, you are. What a lovely card.

I love using white paper on white with a simple design. How lovely this is!

This is beautiful, Leslie...I prefer more white space on cards than most people are willing to delegate...and I appreciate having a new design idea as well!! Your adding the black on top of the flowers rather than a lighter color is brilliant, as it balances the black sentiment so well!! What a nice gift set this will be!!

I love the simplicity of this card! It's just perfect for a sympathy card. I had to laugh when you mentioned how embarrassingly low you sold your cards for. I bet my prices are probably lower than yours! But then, yours are all works of art!

Oh MY! It is harder to make CAS cards that fussy and fancy ones! This is gorgeous...wish I had that sentiment...very sincere!

This is so pretty and elegant! I love mail friendly cards! Beautiful Leslie!

Leslie, you are amazing. Your CAS cards are as beautiful as your very detailed cards, but in a very different and creative way. Love how you kept your sympathy simple and added just the right amount of texture and detail with the lace and dry EB. TFS

An absolutely gorgeous CAS card, Leslie. Love how you inked up that image with the darker edge and lighter blended centers. The white on white is always so elegant.

This card is so beautiful! I love that the stamped images are edged in the same color rather than black. It makes them look embossed.

Leslie, this card is so right for a sympathy card. Very elegant.

I love cards with lots of layers and accents...but there is something about a card with perfect balance, and minimal accents that equal perfection to me. This is definitely one of them, Leslie! Love ♥
