We’re bringing out the fresh picked goodness this week for Flourishes’ pre-release challenge. Stamp a card with fruits or veggies as the focal point and link it to the Farm Fresh Challenge on the Flourishes Newsletter for a chance to win the entire July release. When uploading to an online gallery, use the Keyword FLLCJul11 as shown in the graphic above.
My card today uses an image and sentiment from the Strawberries set, as well as BasicGrey Nook & Pantry designer paper. I added some cute little trim and ribbon with a button and some baker’s twine stitches. Coloring was done with Copics on Classic White cardstock.
I’ve already sent this card to a friend as a thank you for some strawberry plants she gave me. Just three little plants and we’ve been picking the berries off one by one as they ripen… that is, if we can get to them before Wally does. He got first dibs but has since learned he can sniff, but not pick. Pretty irresistible, though. Maybe next year we’ll have a strawberry patch big enough to fill a small basket. There’s no comparing home grown to store bought – yum!

I hope you can join us for this challenge. Keep an eye out for the new set samples starting next Wednesday. There will be more challenges and chances to win then. Flourishes gives away a lot of stamps on release week!
Have yourself a wonderful summer weekend!

What a delightful card, Leslie. I love your use of the trim with it - it just says "summer kitchen" and looks so inviting. How nice that you have strawberry plants to pick from. Great card. I definitely need to get in on this challenge.

Your card is delicious and knowing it was a thank you for some strawberry bushes -- wow -- what a treat that would be!!! I cracked up at Wally eating those berries. He's too stinking cute though -- how could you get mad! Beautiful creation as usual Ms. Leslie!!!

Love your card. Very country-girl look. Yes, strawberries are one of my favorite. I cannot grow them here in Illinois, however, because these little black boring beetles ruin them.

The sweet simplicity of this just blows me away, Leslie!!! And I love those baker's twine "x"s. What a fabulous touch!

Our youngest just picked some strawberries yesterday from our little patch. They were so sweet! Good job for Wally learning just to sniff :) This is such a sweet card Leslie, I love the rows of ribbon (that dotted one is great!), scallops and berry paper (perfect match with Nook and Pantry!).

What a pretty card. I love all the elements in your card, and your coloring is unbelievable, but what I really like is all the white space and the 2 little cross stitches. I'm just wondering how you kept the white space white. :) Me, I'd have had an inky fingerprint on it somewhere before I was finished.

My gosh, this is wonderful. Your coloring is great, not just here, you are a wonderful colorer. I love the stitching too, adds such a wonderful touch to the whole design.

Such a sweet and summery card, Leslie! The ruffled gingham and strawberry paper complement the image perfectly. The coloring on your basket of berries couldn't be any more gorgeous!

Oh, I love and own this set! The berries and sentiments are so, well, sweet. ;) Love the dp you picked for this, too. I'll bet those berries you're harvesting are absolutely delicious, especially with whipped cream on top. Mmmmm!
