What's he waiting for? He seems to be expecting something. . .
Wally had his first encounter with snow last Tuesday. It snowed off and on in the morning, not much more than you see here, but it was quite a surprise for us so early in the year. Naturally, the priority of the day was to get Wally outside to play in it.
What kind of ball is this that feels so cold and wants to fall apart when you catch it? He learned right away that he had to be extra gentle with these balls. He'd jump up to catch them, but rather than chomping down on the snowballs, he'd cradle them carefully in his mouth before laying them at his feet to wait for more. Turns out snow is pretty awesome!
By the next day it was nothing more than frozen clumps of white plopping from the overhead branches. It was sure fun while it lasted!
I hope you're staying warm and making the most of whatever comes your way. Take care!

What great pictures of Wally! He has become quite the gentleman. He is a beautiful animal and I'm guessing faithful till the end. My Yorkies just love the snow, but it hangs in their hair so when they come in they are just one big snowball and they are freezing! I have to use the hair dryer to defrost them each and every time they go outside. Hope you are off to a great start of the week!

So cute. He's such a beautiful dog. Remember Mission Inmpossible, the TV show? Well Leslie, your mission, should you accept it, is to have a video of Wally in a substantial snowfall so we can see how much fun he has. I live in NY State and my first dog after I got married loved the snow. She would run in it, bury her head in the snow, roll on her back in it. She had such a good time. My greyhound loves it too. He has to wear a coat though because greyhounds have very little body fat and really feel the cold. He has quite a wardrobe and most of his coats are turtleneck. He doesn't mind getting "dressed".

What a wonderful treat this morning, a Wally post! We've enjoyed the colder weather back east during Thanksgiving and it appears that Wally enjoys the cold weather too. Have a great week Leslie.

I love your work, honest, I simply love it! However, there is nothing like a Wally post to make me smile the rest of the day!

Wally is so cute with the snow. We had a foster dog who spent more time outside in winter than inside. I called him our snow dog.
