No more tiptoeing around and trying to be polite -- Fall has booted Summer out the door and settled itself in her place. When I started making this card we were on the cusp of the seasons. I colored here and there between other projects and by the time I finally sat down and finished it, we'd stepped fully over the threshold into Fall. Rain, wind, thundering surf. . . I'm hoping for some crisp, sunny days so I can enjoy some time outside.
Today on the Flourishes blog, Stacy is focusing on her window card technique, and most of the team has pitched in with some samples. I might be the only one who hasn't done a window card, but I was determined to finish this one before I started another project. I hope you'll check out Stacy's post. She's had numerous requests to explain how she makes her beautiful window cards, and now is the time to learn her secret.
My goal with this card was to do all stamping, no designer paper, and really get into it, if you know what I mean. I hoped to design a botanical print, more like a canvas which just happens to be mounted on a card. I have the notion I might do a series of botanical prints, but I've had these "notions" before so it remains to be seen how far I get with this one. Notion #2 is in the back of my mind, and we'll just have to see how it pans out.
Stamps used are Sunflowers and Falling Leaves. All the coloring was done with Copics on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock. I cut a cardstock rectangle and traced around it lightly in pencil on the larger image mat, then did all the stamping. I let the sunflowers pop out of the box, but masked as necessary to place the leaves in the background.
You'll be wanting to see some of those window cards now, and I think we'll go on this trip together today as I really have no idea what we'll find, and I'm always pretty excited to see what this very talented team takes a notion to stamp on any given day:

Leslie, what terrific designer paper you have created! I did a double-take to make sure that was really all your Copic handiwork. It is FAN-tastic!
