On Saturday I found trillium blooming in the woods. One little patch of trillium. Naturally, I searched all over for more, but the only other trillium I found was the single bloom in my own garden. I'd never even thought to check on it until that chance encounter along the woodland path. With the crocus and the daffodils, the trillium, forsythia, and plum trees in bloom, spring has made an early arrival on my doorstep. The tulips are soon to follow.
Today they're blooming on Stella's card (BasicGrey Stella Ruby). With my From the Garden set I've made a spring greeting to send to a friend. I saved the sentiment for the inside as I wasn't sure how much more I wanted to add to the card front at risk of cluttering it up.
I did the coloring with Copics, and sponged around the image panels with Saffron ink. The tulips and pot are cut out, with the pot glued flat onto the panel and dimensional foam tape under the blooms only, so they appear to be leaning toward the viewer.
Are you ready for spring? I'm sure this is a false start, just getting my hopes up, but I'll enjoy every moment I can. Take care, and stay warm. I know many of you are still under a blanket of snow. Have a very Ruby Tuesday!
Stamps: From the Garden Paper: Chocolate Chip, Flourishes Classic White, BasicGrey Stella Ruby designer paper Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics for coloring Accessories: Offray ribbon, brads, Spellbinders Classic Oval and Circle Nestabilities, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

Beautiful card. I love the ribbon - picks up so many of the other colors in the card. We don't have trillium here and I miss them. We still have a little snow but it won't be long before the daffodils began poking up through the soil. As much as I love to see signs of spring I'm not sure I'm ready for it yet.

I'm ready for spring!! Our blanket is beginning to melt with our mid-30's weather. That means muddy paws in my future. But that's okay because that also means my daffodils will be peaking their little heads out soon enough!! LOVE how you popped just the tulip. Ahhhh...what's not to love about Ruby Tuesdays with Leslie!!! Thanks for sharing.

This is absolutely gorgeous! Love the combination of rich, earthy tones with bright spring colors. My bff brought me a pot of hyacinth for my bday and the colors and smells make me long for the arrival of spring, just like your card does! ~chris

what a pretty card. Still too much snow and chill in my neck of the woods, even though the days get on the plus side. I remember seeing Trillium when I lived in Montreal. Such pretty flowers.

OMG Leslie, such a gorgeous pot of dimensional tulips and cute little tag of tools. Your Copic's coloring is just stunning. Looks like you have been practicing :-) You do Ruby very proud with your wonderful layout and her BG paper. I just finished picking and arranging a gorgeous bouquet of 6 diff. daffies and forsythia.....so beautiful :-) We are so lucky to live on the mild Southern Oregon Coast. BTW, our trilliums are blooming too :-) We must go for a walk soon in your woods. TFS

I'm so jealous! We're more than a month away from Forsythia, the first sign of Spring around here. You reminded me that I did plant some Trillium last year, so I'm anxious to see if they come up. Gorgeous card, and that's quite the cutting job on those Tulips! I'm sure they're dimension is even more amazing looking in person. Linda
